I've been on Collarme for about two years. Some people have been on here longer than that. I have about 3,500 posts. A few people have more than that. But I've been here longer than most and have posted more than most. And I've observed something lately. People seem to be fucking ANGRY. I don't understand it. Why is everyone so angry, and where is all the intolerance coming from? Every other thread seems to be about race or immigrants. When it's not about that, it's usually some soap opera about a couple or a threesome that no one actually knows, but how they're doing something that's atrocious and horrible, and why they all need to be hanged by the balls for it. Yeah, we always had people who thought their way was the only way; we always had people who went out of their way to offend everyone--but lately it's just gotten out of hand. The threads go on and on, and eventually they just become mud-slinging contests. Thirty pages about a household that no one even knows personally? (That thread was finally pulled, thank God.) Now page after page about political correctness? Immigrants ordering in Spanish in a cheese steak joint? Whether Jews are better lawyers or Chinese better wholesalers? Look, if people enjoy arguing about this stuff, God bless, I'm not trying to start a revolution. I contribute to those threads too. I'd just like to understand where people get all the time and venom to expend condemning others on an ANONYMOUS INTERNET CHAT BOARD? Why is everyone so upset?

The little ads on the Home page have brought in new P/posters. There are some bad apples in that bunch, and though Lord knows why, T/they are allowed to run amuck. It used to be that hate speech here was rare -- but not long ago i even saw the "N" word here. i think there are cycles in boards, as in everything. All i know is, You are not alone in how You feel. pinkee

A lot of tension and frustration is building up. People are being played into joining a few hard edged groups. Everything seems harshly polarized, and some like it that way. It is easier to manage the populace. We used to just buy clothes, now we buy brandnames. The same sort of mentality is being marketed in all areas of life. It causes strain in people, who naturally live within fuzzy boundaries, and use a variety of things to cope with life. It seems that there are fewer sources that take a broad mixed stand on issues, and concede that solutions come from many ideas and ideals. Narrow sources of information, leads to narrowness of views.

because they cant do it in the real world and this is their place to vent all the little things that piss them off daily? This is the place that at the end of the day it "all" comes out on? Some people play solitaire to chill out, some ppl drink beer, some play computer games, some ppl watch sports, some ppl other shows, some hang out with friends, some pet the dog... and some come here and let it all out and some are beyond anything concievable of words and refuse to give a fuck. = ) lol thats one take. Be interesting to see what other takes are. And you LAM have you any idea?

I think life is going like that - everytime you go out in the car you have some idiot trying to beat you at the traffic lights, you go shopping and people walk at you with their shopping trolley - people are just so aggresive.... so its a little sad when you come on here for a laugh and good company only to find people are tying to get one over on each other. What is especially sad, is that its a great group of people on here and there is no need for all the madness - friendly banter/differences of opinion are one thing and are healthy, but the other side of things spoil it (and I will hold my hand up and say that I have been a part of that at times). Perhaps as one of the main voices on here Lordandmaster, you should organise a 'happy day' - no nasty posts allowed!

No, I honestly don't. My one suspicion is that people are upset because the economy has been in the tank for a long time, and many people are starting to get an inkling that the world has been horribly mismanaged. But I'll be first to admit that that's a highly idealistic suggestion. I wasn't really asking why people fight with each other on here. People have always done that, and it's not even the fighting that bothers me. It's the expressions of intolerance. Really, who gives a fuck if an immigrant orders a cheese steak in Spanish? I can't think of a bigger non-issue. I would have thought that one of the first things we'd learn from having an alternative sexuality is to stop for a moment, take in all the facts, and think things through before condemning other people. Someone would bitch about it and say it was their right to post nasty stuff if they want. Lord knows that oneself and one's personal rights are far more important than anyone else's in the world and then there would be a 30 page discussion on that. Oh wait, there has been.

A sign of the times. People are discontent because they are ignored by the democratic system which has been hijacked by the professional political class. Which for a very short period I guess its always been that way. Look how many people were against the war in Iraq but we still went to war and its proving a huge mistake. 80% were against the war in Britain and I'm led to believe the numbers were similar in the US. Take this across a range of issues and you multiply the frustration. The constituency system means that inbuilt majorities of the major parties can't be overturned so you get brand x politician or brand x mach II politician. All it does is make people feel powerless and polarise their views.

I stay away from those type of threads, you will rarely see me post in them if at all. I tend to go to the fun threads or ones that I can offer some help. I have enough drama in my life without gaining more on these boards. I have made alot of friends here, and I intend to keep them...[:D]

Are you beginning to feel like that bottom elephant in your picture or are you just turning into one of those old croons going on about the "old days." No, but really, what should this message board be all about? Who should thrive here? Maybe Proprietrix could start a new training course on better posting. Maybe some poster, like you, an old veteran, could go on a road trip and tell us what everyone is really like, colored with details about who is a good dresser, an ingenuitvie cook, or writes the best Haiku. As for me, I'm most curious if Amayos intends to go and see the remake of THE OMEN with his white crossed face and fem slave on collar and chain. Now that would be a sight and spectlacle! Whenever I get down, I also like to think of FOX, somewhere out there in Midwestern Indiana, washing Tammyjo's car --- or imagine Goddessdustygold inteviewing some slave candidate who might have to give up his Golf Game. Some people are just really lame, like Pollux, for instance. He can post links about Angelina Jolie being a Teen Domme, but when the fuck are we ever going to actually see him under her actual leash? It makes me angry just thinking about it. Sometimes, too, I like to read and see if John Warren ever asks a question or advice from someone else. Someday, I may see it. Also, its always interesting to write something edgy, challenging, and provoking ---- to see how long it might last before being poofed into oblivion. Mostly, though, I miss the fights between Veronicaofml and Aakasha. He was so different than all the rest of us do-me boys.
