I'm going to give Romney a pass on this one. That mouthy bitch had it coming. I would have told her to shut the fuck up.

Well....her job isn`t to shut up.

The aid could have just said "no,there`ll be questions later".....when she asked if they`d get a chance to ask them.

I'll gove Romney a pass for a different reason. he wasn't the one who made the comment. He should, however, hire better people. If you surround yourself with idiots, people assume you are one as well. This is a very good example of that.

True.....this isn`t a biggie..... and not on Mitt.

Romney did enough damage in Israel.....

Just once I'd like to see the President or some other politician or candidate listen to to some reporter's inane, condescending, question and then reply, "Jane, you ignorant slut."

The chimp used to do that to warm up for his press briefings. There's a couple of cases on record of him mocking afflicted hacks.

imo, the aide was just as disrespectful as the news-hungry reporters (& the ignorant slut) are.. dont you think the reporters live for instances like this??

And what does that say about their character?

why fall into that trap? It was really very stupid, and the aide knows this or he wouldnt have apologized half an hour later (but a bit too late cuz now he has those around him thinking he isnt up for the job and he has made his boss look bad as well).. There are ways of dressing down reporters in public without making yourself and your boss look like boobs..

He apologized because that's what's expected. Politics is filled with insincere apologies. Whether that particular aide's apology was sincere or not, I don't know but I'm willing to bet that "those around him" probably felt the same way he did at that moment.

That's another thing about this kind of shit that irks me. It doesn't matter how well you vet people, you can't know everything about somebody and therefore some bad apples will get through. Nor does somebody having a momentary lapse due to frustration make them a bad apple. But nooooooo, people have to glom onto it and make a big fucking deal about it.

Good for him. Too bad he didn't do it during the actual press briefings.

Even professionals can have their off moments. It's not like anyone's life was endangered by his momentary lapse of professionalism, it's not like he grabbed her by the back of the hair and slammed her face into the pavement several times...

I dont care what it says about the reporters, its their job to dig up dirt. If an aide loses his cool like that & so easily, then imo he shouldnt be doing that job.. He is just not in control of himself and not trained well enough.. but then I have never been impressed by hot-heads..

Of course an apology is expected, the aide was wrong.. Even if those around him probably felt the same way he did at that moment, he still made them all look bad and imo, he got his arse kicked around the block for not being civil.. No matter how you feel about reporters, two wrongs do not make a right..

Seems to me we are slowly getting a list of people who are not allowed to question Romney on here.

The left, foreigners, reporters....... And thats just off the top of my head.

Heheeh, awesome. Ron Paul has support all around the world, literally. Romney... not so much! :D

He didn't have the balls to do that when he was actually being filmed if Cheney wasn't there to hold his hand.

Again, what does that say about someone's character if they regard it as their job to "dig up dirt" rather than the truth?

quote:

Who says it was "so easily?" Does this guy have a reputation for loosing his cool? If so then you have a case, if not, then how about cutting him a little slack? In a job where loosing one's cool could endanger lives (eg, airline pilot, 911 dispatcher) a much higher standard is understandable but in this case... ?

And the fact that some politician's aide told a reporter to kiss his ass is not the issue as I see it. The issue is the utter ridiculousness of people making such a big deal about it, the extrapolation of this non-issue into "AND THIS IS WHY WE MUST NOT VOTE ROMNEY!," and the expectation that I'll go along with this farce. There are plenty of reasons not to vote for Romney in regard to his stance on issues... This utterly insignificant "issue" is not one of them.

I guess nobody really cares about the dipshit aide, so long as Willard throws the fucker under the bus, when he loses the bid for presidency.

I'm not defending what the guy did. I am saying that in the grand scheme of things it doesn't amount to much. So, no one is ever allowed a do-over where you work? No room for compassion at all?

Certainly nobody gave a damn about the aide to that chimp who was justifying stopping the Florida recount because the state was full of wetbacks and liberals...

It's a damn shame because it would have made things a lot more entertaining. Just once I would like to see a President respond to some inane question from a reporter with... "What? Are you fucking stupid?" I know that a lot of people think that would be the end of that President's career but I think it would guaranteeing a reelection because millions of Americans would leap up from their chairs and couches, raise their arms in the air and shout, "FINALLY!"
