LOL...so you insert MIGHT in lieu of?

A lot of meeting with, in hopes of stopping an unjust war....and? Of course that is against the law...RIGHT?.....NO!

He met with Oh No!....COMMUNISTS, as a private citizen!....That is certainly illegal....right?....sorry but NO!

I'll ask again, if his offenses in hopes of coming to a halt of an unjust was were so heinous, why were there never charges brought?

If he committed sediton or treason, would he not be prosecuted?

Hoover ran the FBI until '72, Hoover an avowed Anti-Communist, never brought charges? He testified in '71....Hmmmm....guess he didn't break the law, or there was not enough evidence tha he broke the law? Perhaps it was Hoover's sentimentality....he was so known for his heart when he dealt with such things....RIGHT?

Are we not discussing the legal issues or are we just discussing your opinion of what he should have been prosecuted for, due to your political point of view?

It isn't playing, your deck isn't quite full!....

US CODE 18

quote:

ORIGINAL: U.S. code 18 U.S.C. 953.
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who,
without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly
commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any
foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to
influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of
any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or
controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of
the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned
not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply,
himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents
thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from
such government or any of its agents or subjects.

Stop being obtuse, Mark. He met with representatives of a government (I don't give a shit if they were capitalists) with whom we were at war. That IS a violation of law. His claim was that it "bordered on" a violation but, he, of course, was trying to avoid prison time.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

So we`re still beating up on Dr King.......?

Someone essentially sentenced to death, by hoover....who called King the most dangerous man in America.....

Thanks for explaining to us and reminding us how republicans/bigots think and act.

I said nothing about Dr. King and I object to you, calling me a bigot. It has taken a long time but, here we go ...

Yet never prosecuted, with Nixon as President, and Hoover as the head of the FBI?....Once again, must not have risen to the level of prosecution... Hmmmmmmmmm

OK we know that no US President has died in combat.

But then there are other questions. Have any been injured, shed blood or even got their boots muddy ? I think the closest we came was McCain being the only POW in history to gain weight, but he didn't win. We have a couple of pilots who kill from the sky. Are there any who actually were in a real battle on the ground ?

Weed

Have you really never heard of PT-109?
What about the Roughriders?
Maybe Supreme Commander Allied Forces, Europe rings a bell?

I remain unconvinced that t.r got his boots dirty...He was the only one with a horse in the "charge up san juan hill".
Before he wa scafe he was second stooge to mcarthur chasing the vets out of d.c at bayonet point.

DaddySatyr -> RE: "Mitt" Romney: Piece of Shit DRAFT DODGER... (8/6/2012 8:04:46 AM)

He was under the "protection" of Sen. Fullbright but, read the law for yourself. Then, read his testimony and see if he engaged in direct (or indirect) intercourse with a country with which we were at war for the purposes of resolving a controversy between said country and the United States.

It's pretty straight forward. I would suggest that it's your political slant that keeps you from seeing it.

He met with said leaders with the expressed purpose of bringing their proposal for ending the war to the US. He was not auhtorized by the US to do so.

He's as guilty as a priest in a whorehouse.

Prosecutions or lack thereof don't prove guilt or innocense. Ask O.J. Simpson.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

"Prosecutions or lack thereof don't prove guilt or innocense." But to you, a lack thereof proves he was guilty?....Now there's some logic!

I gave you the proof but, you're being obstinant and holding the party line. Kudos to your independent thought process (or lack thereof).

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Well since johnny cannot read the statute or show credible citations of these outlandish claims you don't have the gall to ask for anything other than non-reasons do you?

Yeah, why couldn't he just dodge the draft, smoke weed, burn the American flag in a foreign country and tour Russia like a good, decent American?

Mitt Romney could never do what William Slick Willie Clinton did.

As a reserve officer in the u.s. navy, did he have a right to march under a reublicrat or demopub banner? If so then why not under another legal political party in the u.s.?

True that, "jim".....

This includes election to the presidency....[:D]

SilverMark -> RE: "Mitt" Romney: Piece of Shit DRAFT DODGER... (8/6/2012 8:18:44 AM)

LOL....you cannot make a good enough argument and my thinking is party line?...I never cared for Kerry as a candidate, wasn't fond of him as a possible President!

I give due respect to those who stand for something, that fought for something, and I don't take those who only snipe as you do, seriously.

You discount the accomplishments of a DECORATED VETERAN based on a political motivation, and I'm following the Party Line?

Run out of sound bites?

mnottertail -> RE: "Mitt" Romney: Piece of Shit DRAFT DODGER... (8/6/2012 8:20:31 AM)

It must be party line Silv, alotta the party did not vote for Kerry.  It made all the papers, you know, even the vast liberal media.

Could you refresh our memory as to when the u.s. declared war on n.viet nam?

This you say is based on reports from the fbi which has a long reputation of truthful[8|]?
