To continue.... Unemployment, U6, was 7.4 when Bush took over the office... 15.1 when Obama took over. But the departing Presidents policies continue until October... something even Romney had to agree with.

While policies carry through, Most private sector employers hire based on their predictions of need vs profit. They will hesitate or lay off based on their prospective ability or inability to make payroll. Yes, indeed it is the nature of capitalism, long may it wave.

Then look to Capitalism for the unemployment numbers.

Using U6 rates, and the chart that you linked, Bush's last month in office, his highest rate, shows the US at 11.8. In November it jumped to 12.7 went up to 14.2% at inauguration time, and has not dropped below 15% since, according to your source. If you want the simple visual Mr Obama has not dropped out of purple and red since he was sworn in. Not my favorite colors if you ask me. His calim was that unemployment (I will allow his reference was U3) would not go over 8% if TARP passed. I would expect more misleading promises, I don't expect a wave of truthsaying to sweep Washington DC.

11.8?

11.8 was October 2008,,, when do you think he left office?

Try 2009. His policies were still in effect until October 2009.

Your whole post is based upon the wrong year.

The inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States took place on Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Unless you are trying to say we had no President for a year.

As I said before, businesses hire based on projections. Based on the election results of November 2008, Bush was no longer much of a factor, and speculation was that Mr Obama would be what he promised or threatened

And by November of 2008, the damage to the economy was done... financial markets were in a tail spin...

Lehman Brothers didnt file until September....

That has a much bigger effect on the economy, and unemployment, than who won the election.

After 8 years of the Bush baby, it's going to take the Democrat's at least 12 to get the wheels back on the bus.

Democrats any day of the week, nuff said.

A thousand times is not enough, we need to hear it a million times.

Of course the buck stops with President Obama, give him time to dig us out.

The recession actually started two years before bush left office.

There was also a huge amount of damage done to the economy`s fundamentals, in the years leading up to the middle of '08'.Plus the costs of the Iraq disastar were being felt.

By the time anyone knew there was a problem,we had bush telling us we HAD to bail out the banks and nationalize a number of them......OR ELSE!...

If we didn`t do it,it was over.We would fall into a deep economic down-turn.Basically putting a gun to our heads.

The job loss....due to businesses closings, due to no orders due to no consumers was full on in the months leading up to when President Obama took office.

The economy was losing a hundred thousand jobs a month in Nov '08'.......so many jobs that in that short time, it canceled out all the jobs created during the entire bush administration`s 8 years.

That`s fucking huge.

17 trillion dollars in capital vanished and all credit froze.....solid......for the 1st time since the great depression.

That`s fucking huge.

If we can`t get the cons to even acknowledge what happened, how are they going to manage making things better?

Mitt would have let GM fail......

Today.....GM is doing better than ever.....

That was years ago.
Lately the presidential letter of succession is:
Year one, blame it on your predecessor
Year two, blame it on the guy before you,
Year three, blame it on the last president
Year four, if you haven't fixed it, write a letter of succession.

with Mr Obama, Bucks are stopping, hope for change.

It happened under Bush's watch... and not just at the end. When are you conservatives going to stand up and take responsibility for that?

Economists stated it would take 8 - 12 years to dig out of this mess.

This is the point, we live in some form of a Democracy.

The people vote and they decide.

It really doesn't matter if you are EVER happy with the President or not, the people get to decide.

Some people around here are starting to sound, UnAmerican.
I don't like it!

I have no idea, I was a bit bitter and angry during 8 years of watching Bush doing his best to destroy this great country.

Good question, I hope we are all safe after the election, Owner.
Some of the posters around here, seem unhinged and maybe unbalanced.

Some posters around here are not good Americans, and I am offended.
If they don't like this country, get the hell out!
