Should we ask Clint Eastwood to confirm this? He doesn't seem short of work as far as I can tell.

I don't know where you got that from.

A very cursory look (the first ten listings) show that he voted "Yea" on 9 bills that passed the house and voted "Nay" on one that failed in the house.

Now, as I said; that's a very cursory look. If you're talking about bills that make it to the desk in the oval office, surely you're not counting the senate voting bills down against him?

There's a story about a new Democratic Congressman that asked his majority leader: "Where's the Republicans? I want to meet the enemy."

The elder statesman said: "The Republicans aren't the enemy. They're the opposition. The Senate is the enemy".

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I did find it interesting that Mr. Ryan did not vote 17 times in 13 years (That's an average of 1.30 votes per year) and the current failure-in-chief did not vote 68 times in three years (That's an average of 22.66 votes per year).

A couple of interesting things (to me) that Ryan didn't vote on:

Providing for the adoption of the resolution (H. Res. 979) recommending that the House of Representatives find Harriet Miers and Joshua Bolten, Chief of Staff, White House, in contempt. (This was in Feb 09 so, they would be Ofailure staffers. I guess not ALL republicans jump on the bandwagon when a wrong-doer has a "D" after their name)

H.RES.847 Vote to pass a resolution that recognizes the importance of Christmas and of the Christian faith as one of the great religions of the world; affirms the role of Christians and Christianity in the founding of the United States and in the formation of western civilization; and rejects bigotry and persecution directed against Christians in the United States and worldwide. (I wonder if the godless heathens on the left will hold his feet to the fire for this or applaud is independence)

The one vote that caught my eye out of the almost six dozen votes that Sen. Obama didn't vote on was:

Did not vote on the “Sense Of The Senate” on Guantanamo Bay detainees. (Didn't he promise to close Gitmo, when he was campaigning?)

Wrong!

Myers and Bolten were White House Counsel and Chief of Staff, respectively, to W. Ryan's vote was partisan.

Also Ryan has missed more than 17 votes in his time in Congress. The OP does not cover all the minor procedural votes held in the House.

That, of course is your typical rightwing lie, easily disprovable, I don't know where that lie started, some rushfelcher or whatnot, I suppose.

Again, my point proven. Rather than actually discussing what his voting record is, people are busy just throwing around "liberal" and "conservative" like they're swear words. Big ole pissing contest rather than actually discussing pros and cons.

(My apologies to the two of you that actually were discussing his voting record)

Well one thing he did vote on was his budget..... many within the GOP who are in close races are getting as far away from as they can.. such as Richard Tisei, George Allen, Rep. Denny Rehberg R-MT, Brendan Doherty, Linda McMahon .I wonder why?????

He asserts that he can cut taxes without net loss of revenue by closing unspecified loopholes;

he asserts that he can cut discretionary spending to levels not seen since Calvin Coolidge, without saying how;

he asserts that he can convert Medicare to a voucher system, with much lower spending than now projected, without even a hint of how this is supposed to work, nor does he say the vouchers will keep up with increasing medical costs, ...cause medical cost nevver increase

Gosh....so I should just trust this guy, cause he says he can...but he will just not reveal how he plans on doing it... and with the Ryan budget, Willard would pay less than 1% in taxes, while everyone who earns less than $500,000. will pay about 18% more in taxes, including ending mortgage interest deductions, taxing your health insurance through your employer and ending deductions for children... but your airplane and yacht will still get tax deductions...

LOL! I actually wondered as I posted if you'd have the integrity to admit you were wrong. Can't say I'm surprised by the answer. Is that par for the course for you regressives?

Threads, like conversations, drift into subtopics, and the subtopic at that point, as you and I both well know, was private sector experience.

Well, I have to plead "Guilty" to comparing the two records (Ryan/Ofailure).

It surprised me that the "experience" that people claimed Mr. Ryan didn't have but the current failure-in-chief did have isn't even comparable.

If we call their "private sector" experience a wash (I guess it is), then the "Leadership experience" (another misnomer) weighs a lot more heavily in favor of Ryan.

Also, based upon the amount of votes that weren't cast, it would appear to me that Ryan took his job a bit more seriously.

According to the link posted (which was proffered as some kind of "authority" and it appears to be non-partisan), Ryan missed less votes in 13 years than Obama averaged missed in a year.

I find that to be a relevent item to bring up.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

What foreign policy creds does Ryan have?

Mitten`s had none and came back with less then none, recently......

So one would think Mitt would pick someone with some foreign policy experience......which Ryan has none of.

So why is it again that Ryan is such a good pick?

Before our knuckle draggers reaffirm their "fuck them" attitude toward other countries.....we already got it......

But I`d like to point out that normal, moderate swing voters are not as ignorant or as intellectually lazy as con-voters and DO care about what happens in the world.

LOL He had plenty of foreign policy experience. he grew up in another country.

Ooooops! Mentioning that makes me a "birther". It doesn't matter that he and his wife have both mentioned it. Hey! Are they both birthers, too?

I love the frothing at the mouth months!

Peace and comfort,
