Syl, I loved that! I may just have to steal it.

To those complaining about non answered/unread messages, this is the second thread I've seen you mention it. You guys really don't get this and I'm not sure why. Women aren't going to sit and type up a reason each and every time they receive an email, but aren't interested in a guy. That could be location, age, lack of a photo on your profile, those first few lines didn't thrill them when they used the hover feature.......

It's honestly not a concern of the women who aren't interested enough in you to reply to take time to tell you whatever it is that you got deleted unread. Do some independent research on that.

I know you guys think that all legitimate email should be answered. When you've reached receiving at least a thousand emails on the site, from people you have no interest in, but you reply to them all anyway, then I'll say you have a point. You do not understand the sheer volume of mail that many women get. It does add up and the time that's saved by just deleting what you don't want is significant.

Thanks, LP! By all means, steal away.

I just perved your profile. [;)]

Well thanks, I'm really not expecting to find anyone by now. I've been here for a while and gotten nowhere, I've made more progress going to local events last few months - and been making changes in my life and labels so I guess my profile is actually a bit out of date.

And that is how it should be... personally, I stay because I enjoy some of the people I have "met" on the boards. Though I will state, there is always exceptions to that rule, huh Deviantly?

I don't delete unread either. I open it so I can click the button that says "Report as spam and delete."

lol

Why do people think it shouldn't take that long to find someone on this site? I mean, it takes just as long on "vanilla" dating sites as well and in real life where people hook up without the internet.

I mean I have friends who have been single for 10 years or more and still searching. I was single for over 8 years before I met Master...8 years...and I had profiles on here and other bdsm dating sites AND vanilla dating sites.

So, what makes people so upset if they have to send tons of emails to everyone and not get a response? Doesn't that happen in real life as well? I mean, when I was still single and I would have some guy who wanted to talk to me but I saw him approaching and I didn't find him attractive, I'd duck out of the way quickly or have my friend make an excuse for me or hide me lol. So...again, why do you think you will get faster and better results here???

Unexpected and incredible exceptions...yes. :)

my opinion only,
back in the 'nilla world when we frequented bars & clubs how many times did we crash & burn when we made a move?
Probably the same ratio.

Because half the e-mails I send (unsolicited) will never be read, and presumably similar results apply to others (yes, I know that you can preview an email by hovering over it), the impetus for writing a well crafted e-mail is pretty low (I try anyway). If you know your opening e-mail will probably never be read, why would you want to spend 15-20 minutes crafting something unique and personal? Therefore female submissives are besieged by a tide of cut/paste e-mail. If you know the only way to catch someone's attention is to cast as wide a net as possible, you'll do so in an efficient manner.

If you send me an initial email, I will be happy to critique it. (Pretend we are local to each other.)

Lucifyre -> RE: For new subs. (8/19/2012 8:12:56 AM)

For the record btw, I NEVER send out emails in a prospective dating capacity on any of the sites I frequent.

When I send CMail here it is always because of something that's ceing discussed on the boards, or I havae read one of the posters profiles and found it appealing so I'll send a "I like your profile" type message with no response required. Or I have soething I need to talk about with someone specific. (hope I covered it all LOL)

I don't much worry about what's going on on the hook up side of CM because I'm not particularly interested in finding anyone to date off a website. It's too easy for someone to send off a snarky reply or just plain ignore something I've sent...I hate rejection, I'm sensative hehe. I do my looking at our local munches and playspaces etc. Even there I am usually not brave enough to approach anyone that catches my eye.
