I got a chuckle, here: quote:
Obama could eliminate the entire problem overnight and reduce carbon emissions were he to waive the ethanol mandate in a time of drought. Is Obama a AGW denier? Is he one of those people that doesn't pray in Algore's church? So, let's see ... by not suspending (ending would be better but whatever) the ethanol mandate, Ofailure is (in a very tacit way, of course) showing us that wasting tax payer money, buying pork, chicken, lamb, and farm raised catfish to "force" Americans (He's no stranger to that) to buy more beef because it's all that's left is more is preferential to not reducing greenhouse gas? I can't imagine the poor being effected by this much. After all, so many have had to sell their cars because they can't find work that there's hardly a need to reduce greenhouse gas. You could argue that the percentages will be about the same, at the end of the day. Maybe the president intends to hand out all that food he's using our money to buy? No. You would think that would have been mentioned. But, there's those pesky poor people, again; they couldn't afford the food anyway (not at the price the government will over-pay for it to make sure it doesn't find its way into the free market). Hmmmmm I wonder about how all the vegetarians that would choose the corn over the beef feel about Ofailure making the decision for them? I mean, isn't that the way its supposed to be? Obama, shackling us by restricting our choices and thereby our freedom? I didn't even want to mention the pandering angle (but I'm gonna). Ethanol is not just a failure in the non-reduction of carbon emissions it's been a money boondogle, from the beginning. What does ethanol give us? Well, it releases more nitrogen oxide. It causes more smog and it uses more fossil fuel (That's "oil" for those of you in Poughkeepsie) to produce it than it replaces. Let's face it; ethanol is only used as an "alternative fuel source" because the major producer is what state? Iowa. How can there be any political ramifications, there? Peace and comfort, Michael
