Status: offline 		This CNN article describes a new strategy to win the White House. The traditional approach has been to consider your base secure, and try for the independents while at the same time registering new sympathetic voters and executing a GOTV effort.

The article describes a different method: appeal to the party faithful and motivate them. In other words, the hell with the moderates.

Obviously, that failed in 2008. But Obama's faithful seem less energized this time around, and moderates are fewer and fewer...

Every time a lefty starts a thread complaining about Romney, I'm just gonna type: "It's Ofailure's fault" and walk away.

One in four or five people you see today is unemployed or are underemployed. Fuel and food prices are up, gross pay is down and poverty is at a record high

Where is Obamas hard work and leadership doing anything, even toward far left peace nicks dream of slashing the military or raising taxes to punish the successful

Oh thats right, he spends all of his time out on the golf course, he is far too busy taking extravagant vacations and playing grab ass with Hollywood elites to bother with the nations business

Even his signature Obamacare was a gift to his big insurance lobbyist cronies, wasnt it. Written behind closed doors, hated by a solid majority... the one thing he really accomplished was dog shit from the gate

hmmm.. how quickly people forget.. not to nit pic with ya or anything but.. isnt that what ya'll had with Bush jr? much of the world (not just the US) crumbled hard, fast and deep when he was in charge.. Sheesh.. that was only 4-ish years ago.. the US is still trying to dig out of the shite pile created by him (Iraq, the recession/depression, serious govt debt, etc)..

Status: offline 		tj, the conservative mindset has been NOT that "gosh, we went too far on that," but rather "Damn, if we'd only really done this full out, with no compromise or dilution, then it all would have worked!" Yes, that's magical thinking, but that's the position.

The Ryan pick underscores this mentality.

Status: offline 		Let's understand that we are dealing with a "party" here that is completely in the hands of religious fundamentalists. This means that the ultimate goal of the Republican Party as it exists today is:

If you are a woman: you will have no right to end your pregnancy, and the government will make it has hard as possible for you to obtain birth control or preventative medical treatment or screenings. You will NOT make as much money in you job as your male counterparts, cause you know you wimmins leave to have babies and stuff and that makes you a drain on the workforce.

If you are homosexual or transgendered: you will have no right to marry, to adopt children, no protections against discrimination, no rights of family or relationship for medical decisions or benefits. Many of them would really like to kill you themselves!

If you are a poor black 6-year old girl in Cleveland: you are gonna go hungry again today because there is no safety net for you, and if your mommy cannot find work, she should not have had you in the first place, sorry. Go watch Sesame Street...oh wait, the Republicans took that away too.

If you are not Christian: yea, you guys are next in the line. Welcome to prayer in schools..what kind of prayers? Well, not your kind. Christian kind...and you know, maybe Jewish kind cause they keep our military hardware near to the Middle East where our oil interests are.

I could go on, but typing out the hate and fear these guys generate is making me sick...

Maybe for super hard core conservatives.. I still think Obama will win.. either way tho.. I have recently started looking online checking out property in the Turks & Caicos! The recession has made that more doable, actually..
