defiantbadgirl -> How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 8:52:20 AM)

So many older Americans lost their life savings in the recession. Paul Ryan wants to turn Medicare into a voucher system, which means those on fixed incomes will be forced to pay even more for Medicare or DIE. If Romney and Ryan win and republicans gain control of the Senate, life expectancy in the US will plummet. I can't understand how anyone can vote for Romney when he picked Ryan as his running mate.

edited to add: President Obama isn't making any cuts to Medicare that will affect health care, only overhead costs.

Romney and Ryan both come from money...lots of it. They have zero concept of not being able to pay for something they need. I believe most of us have been through a period in our lives when we wondered if we pay for the major car repair will we have enough money for rent or food. Mitt and Paul have NEVER experienced that and therefore it never enters their minds that there are people out there who struggle every day just for the basic necessities.

How can anyone NOT like him?

The system is broke and broken, where is the democrat solution for the broken system? Sooner or later you run out of other people's money.

Ryan's voucher will allow anyone under 55 to buy the same fucking coverage that federal employees have, and this is a bad thing?

Well because Ryan is a central archeitect in spending other peoples money.  Ours.

Look at the debt.  Her is the chairman of the house budget committee, what's going on right now is his plan and the other teabaggers.

Make up our fucking minds, either the republicans are cock blocking obstructionists, or they're spending money hand over fist... Which is it?

And if it's the latter, how come the dem Senate and the President are going along with the spending? I mean how much spending has Obama curtailed with a veto?

farglebargle -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 9:46:46 AM)

Well, I imagine that a lot of people who REALLY don't like black people would tend to overlook Paul Ryan's self-serving hypocrisy. Paul Ryan SAYS he opposed the stimulus, but then again Paul Ryan WENT TO BAT TO GET STIMULUS FUNDS.

We must have a news blackout in Pa. We have not seen an Obama budget for some time now. You know, the budget that is supposed to be required by law.

The last one that Obama proposed was rejected by everybody including his own Democrats, it was such an undefendable joke. Standard performance from the Obama administration.

servantforuse -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 9:51:35 AM)

DFB, You do know that Obama took 717 billion out of medicare to partially fund obamacare. He is the guy seniors should be worried about, not Paul Ryan.

servantforuse -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 9:55:06 AM)

Smartsub, Paul Ryan didn't come from a wealthy family. Quite the contrary. He grew up in a very modest home in the small town of Janesville, Wi. His father died while he was a teenager.

Obamas budget in full was never seen by house or senate.
You will see his budget in February when he is on his second term. you havent got a news blackout, just have no knowledge of the rules and laws of America.

Ryan came from money? I think you need to read a bit more about the death of his father and his job selling hot dogs.

And you apparently have no knowledge that his budget was presented without change and unanimously defeated.

mnottertail -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 10:04:49 AM)

That is incorrect, and you have no knowledge of that.  But I would expect that of you.

servantforuse -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 10:11:31 AM)

smartsub, You also might want to read up on Mitt Romney's inheritance. Are you aware that he gave it away ? The entire amount went to charities.

Hillwilliam -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 10:43:40 AM)

As a person, I don't find Ryan unlikable.

He's your classic "Tall good looking boy (or girl) who photographs well and is well spoken" that both parties are recuiting right out of college. It's the policies that he espouses that I don't like. It's his hypocrisy I don't like. He was adamantly against the stimulus but who had his greedy little hands out as soon as it passed?
He then lied about it.

If you don't like abortion, dont get one.
If you don't like Gay marriage, don't marry a Gay person.
Dont like sex, don't do it.
Don't like porn, don't watch it.

If you want to take rights and priveleges away from others, don't whine when they want to take yours away.

Don't you know you shouldn't let facts get in the way of a liberal rant?

servantforuse -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 11:24:44 AM)

I have to wonder where smartsub might have heard this ? A liberal friend no doubt who has no clue about either Ryan's or Romney's background.

Actually, his likability surpasses Obama, Biden, and Romney. Sadly, his likability is only around 50%.

servantforuse -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 11:39:46 AM)

I would also feel more comfortable with Ryan taking over the reins instead of Biden.

wittynamehere -> RE: How can anyone like Paul Ryan? (8/24/2012 11:41:28 AM)

Ryan Paul probably gets a lot of positive attention because his name is so close to Ron Paul, a well loved Republican figure set to take the nomination next week.
