GM stated they would close the plant in June 2008, before Obama was even elected, and also ceased major operations in Dec 2008 ....Helll the Bush White House even praised the plant closing.............from the AP June 3rd 2008

http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5h02VGip7lek1Z7nWSXi4VLhYpB2g

The White House called the announcement a sign that the auto giant was “adapting well” to market shifts.

“It’s a sign that Detroit continues to adapt and evolve and address the change in consumer tastes and attitudes. And I think that they’re adapting well,” spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

“And they’ll make these changes, and hopefully be able to pull themselves up out of what has been a rough several years,” she said. …

Then there is this little fact Ryan chooses to ignore ...when he blames Obama...same article June 3rd 2008

GM alone has eliminated 71,000 jobs in the United States since 2000 and lost more than 54 billion dollars since 2005.

LrdAllanon -> RE: Ryan Electrifies: "We can do this!" (8/31/2012 8:05:28 AM)

LoL are you kidding.. Our current leader has done enough damage.. We will kick his butt out of the White house and put Romney in

Musicmystery -> RE: Ryan Electrifies: "We can do this!" (8/31/2012 8:09:57 AM)

.....only to FURTHER expand military spending and FURTHER cut taxes, both without any funding. Bush on Steroids. More of what made the mess.

SlipSlidingAway -> RE: Ryan Electrifies: "We can do this!" (8/31/2012 8:15:39 AM)

Even if the current leader has done damage, is running on a ticket that is ill defined and focus mainly on change (without details on what that change will be) enough?

I certainly don't think so.  Give me details.  Not vague promises that things are going to get better just because of a change of command.  The "trust me" tact never worked with me.  Don't give me lip service, give me facts, and not disputed ones.

The RNC was all pretty and sparkly, it was a great show, unfortunately, it had very little substance.  There was a whole lot of talking, but very little was actually said.

Replace "Romney" with "Obama", turn the clock back 4 years and that mentality is precisely how we got into the present mess.

Do we want to repeat previous mistakes because of a knee jerk reaction?

Amazing how that dropped from 4.11 a gallon july.. and shot up again just after he lost.... what a shock!!!!!
Shenanigans afoot no doubt, * unsurprising*

Probably, but it makes Romney's statement true, doesn't it?

And this sophistry is the level of intellectual honesty and rigor you hope to advance your political views with? A few months of manipulated price against the whole of the energy price trend of the second shrub administration?

After four years of sophistry and excuses, this is really your best defense? Really? Not to mention you comparing 8 years of Bush to 4 years of Obama administrations... Shall we compare apples to apples and only use the first 4 years of Bush, or how about we use the second 4 years, when the Dems had control of both houses of congress?

Musicmystery -> RE: Ryan Electrifies: "We can do this!" (8/31/2012 9:38:01 AM)

And today the world is so NOT abuzz with Mitt.

Just Clint.

Quiet.

It's hilarious how hard you right winger are trying to deny the facts. Ryan lied, a lot, during his speech. Every news organization out there that does fact checking has called him on it.

Its hilarious, but expected, that you stop reading when your biases are confirmed. Hint: a "fact checker" is not free from biases either.

Now this is getting sad. Ryan lied and everyone but ultra partisan cons knows it. If you look up to the top of the page you can even see a very graphic proof of one of his lies.

So we should repeat the previous mistake by reelecting him, instead?

I was talking with a very nice lady today.  She had been excited to vote for Obama in '08, but she has, in her own words, come to her senses about the kind of people we need to have in charge, and she won't be doing that again.

Again, where was the *shock* when Obama claimed he would end global warming, and lower sea levels?

Preciesly when and where did Obama promise to "end global warming, and lower sea levels?"

He said that this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the planet began to heal. Care for the sick and jobs for the jobless.

Elect Obama.

Yes He can. [8|]

You are another one with selective reading abilities

Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment - this was the time - when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals. Thank you, God Bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

Alas, even the fact-checkers with right wing biases are calling him on it.

Take off the glasses.

I'm sure that's how America is spending its day.

By the way, there are only 300 million people in the U.S. Apparently, each American, man, woman, and child, uploaded something to Google 1.5 times, just because they were so excited!

Now Google "Clint Eastwood overshadows Mitt"

slvemike4u -> RE: Ryan Electrifies: "We can do this!" (8/31/2012 8:37:38 PM)

I'm confused,I thought facts were,er.......facts
What would one's bias have to do with facts.
By definition they are what they are....or they aren't in fact, facts.
Right ?

Musicmystery -> RE: Ryan Electrifies: "We can do this!" (8/31/2012 8:40:12 PM)

Not since 1980.

Fuck...that was a bad decade for me,lot's of drugs.
I guess I missed the update,
