He didn't cite the author for 2 reasons..He didn't know who exactly it was and also we had already discussed His posting it before He started the new thread to do so.

Nice excuse, or maybe he is a bit more forthcoming with you. However to some of us it looks like a deliberate attempt to pass it off as his own because he started with nothing more than this statement:

"This is my philosophy on what a good Dom should be..." (emphasis mine)

Being honest after getting caught isn't a virtue. I suppose there is some chance it was just a mistake of judgment, so in the end his scorecard for this thread will be one of these 2 chioces depending on your viewpoint:

1. Pandering to impress the girls and plagiarism

or

2. Pandering to impress the girls and not having enough sense to admit up front he was sharing some anonymous author's philosophy that he liked

I do appreciate the comedy, though, of seeing a baldfaced attempt to impress folks with wisdom have exactly the opposite outcome.

Keep 'em coming!

1st of all it is not a poem. I took it form a Dom that has been in the life for 20 +years.

Did you take a look at the format of ur 'poem'?

If you took it from a dom did he not / or could you not have asked him who wrote it before posting it?

Don't people adopt other's words as their own philosophy every single day?  Just because someone says it is thr philosophy does not intrinsically mean that they wrote the words. i DO understand where the confusion originated, but it has been explained now.  Like i stated before, there was a whole preamble to this thread on another thread and for those of us who were there at the time, it was understood.  He didn't get "caught" as you are so eager to insinuate. You were just uninformed because you came in after the fact with your two cents worth.
Who's trying to impress and coming out looking ignorant now?
And BTW those are crappy's words...WHERE"S YOUR CITE?

Good grief!!!
I think I will start a thread about people actually "Living" the lifestyle intead of sitting around in a message board bashing others.

I didn't expect to get an english exam about my thread. I copied and pasted it and the format changed a bit. I was not worried about it.

I got it in an email years ago and didn't care to remember who the author was.

I was not sitting here waiting for people to post. So I guess some one beat me to the punch.

Because people who make nasty unnecessary comments about other people needing to be unhappy are so much different than the people who made the comments in the first place?

I couldn’t agree more.  I would also like to have one of those crystal balls that let me see the intentions behind every post of every person who hasn’t posted 500 times.

Or, well, I guess I could just go the well known route around here and blame the ‘newbie’ or the person who “jumped too fast into a relationship because she was in need of saving” or my favorite, the submissive who calls herself a slave because she thinks it’s “cool” for the never-ending, condescending attitudes here.

I sure would like to know when everyone became so all-knowing and cynical and so very important.  Perhaps I went to bed early that particular night and missed all the excitement.

You and noblesse have certainly got ur replies in sync aint ya?

I was not bashing anyone i was just questioning which comes with being naturally curious.

Aeon - yes i am an unhappy bunny at the moment but whether that was the case or not i would have still asked the same questions. After all isn't that what these forums are for? Surely they are places to discuss, get answers and question what we think we know.

We really don't blame newbies here a lot- although many of them like to take the path of the victim.

I do make sure they are called to the floor to be held accountable for their own adult decisions.

quote:

or the person who “jumped too fast into a relationship because she was in need of saving”

Well let's face it, there are a lot of them.  We still don't blame them, but I do point out how that's not really getting them what they want.

quote:

or my favorite, the submissive who calls herself a slave because she thinks it’s “cool” for the never-ending, condescending attitudes here.

So it's better to secretly snark at someone's self-identification?

You're right, your sarcastic knocking of how advice is given here is really the right way to go.

This has got to be the most high school thread I've seen on collarme, and if you've seen the recent threads you know that means something.

New dom comes on and posts an uncited poem- people give opinions, including strong ones.  New dom + new doms friends come on and snark at the posts they don't like.  Other people snark back at new dom + new doms friends.  New dom + new doms friends snark back.  Then people start snarking about the snarking.

I'm sure we'll be seeing a few "fluff" posts soon to try and lighten the mood, perhaps with a few passive aggressive "Oh I'm just being cute but really making nasty digs at others." lines added for extra fun.

It's a day for p games (and not the fun ones, I'm talking about pandering and plagiarism).  It's a day for s  games too (snark and sarcasm).  Hmmnn, just another typical day around here.

edited to clarify...thank you LA for getting rid of that freakin' purple bunny!   hehe  (I'm talking about your avatar pic.

Passive-aggressive is not my way... Sorry.

While I'm sure I could find many, many other posts alot more high schoolish than my own, I simply can't be arsed to do so.  But while we are speaking of high school, I'll let it be known I have no desire to be in your clique.

The replies here weren't strong opinions - they went as far as to accuse someone of creating another id simply to back up his post.

By the way, noblesseoblige, while the poem/philosophy didn't do much for me, I'm sure there are many things I enjoy that you wouldn't.  Thanks for sharing.

I wish I knew what this clique everyone said I had- I sure could use their help in a few weeks moving.

No, that was the "snarking back at new dom + friends" part, not the opinions part.
