Julia Honey this is not academic forum!  We are not literary experts here...LOL  Give us a break!  What you suggested he say was said on another thread to those of us who were there.  Good grief...can't we just for once discuss the topic....which was "what do you think of the statement", not "is it in the correct format with all the cites in place and do you like ME?"
All this constant hooha over stuff that is completely irrelevant.  I can just feel the life draining right out of me...

As someone that writes I do not like my words taken without attribution. Perhaps you do not care if you spend a lot of time on something and someone presents it in a way that makes it look like it was their work... most of us DO care. I bet the dom that wrote that would care. Here on collarme people are known to take complete profies and pictures that are not theirs and use them as if they were. No one likes this, if you see no problem with that, well most of us DO. It is unethical to do so. Instead of telling me to relax my standards of behavior, perhaps you should raise the bar on your own and learn something such as plagiarism is wrong and should be avoided. It is not acceptable in any walk of life or any forum that I know of.

LOL!

So in other words you all are in contact by some means -- perhaps by e-mail or something else so were able to tell each other that it wasn't his poem, but you were unable to actually share the poem the same way.

It gets ridiculouser and ridiculouser.

Keep 'em coming!

Can't resist.  That should be: "I realize you may never have GONE to college."

Education is not a measure of intelligence.  The most intelligent people I have ever known did not go to college... your point is to ridicule me, well BRAVO. Applaud yourself! I still have no respect for stealing words I did not come up with on my own and not attributing them, but instead taking credit for them

BTW, Plagiarism is something talked about in every college course I know of where one will be using the work of others, I never knew much about it until I went to college, and yes I WENT there...So if you think I was being snotty by pointing this out, think again. But I am very sensitive about this topic having been the victim of plagiarism.

I do understand what plagiarism is and that was not my intent.   I also did go to college. Julia I understand your sensitivity towards plagiarism knowing now that you are a writer...but I have explained why it appeared to you that I was trying to plagiarize and you (meaning everyone) should be able to accept that and move on.  To continue flinging accusations at this point is just fighting for the sake of fighting. Which is what ALL of this has been,

This is what I was referring to.   You may not believe this but I do have a strong sense of honor and that stings when you insinuate that I would steal anything.....

Noblesse, why don't you just say something to the effect of: "I was wrong to post the poem without indicating that it isn't my work.  I won't do that again."

And that will be the end of all this nonsense.  Whether or not your intent was to steal someone else's material is irrelevant.  I certainly believe you when you say you didn't mean to steal anything.  But the effect is the same.  If you cite something that someone else wrote, you have to say who wrote it.

And then we can all live in peace again.  And maybe one of these days I can collect on my ius primae noctis with puella.  She's appropriately named for that, wouldn't you say?

edited to clarify...thank you LA for getting rid of that freakin' purple bunny!   hehe  (I'm talking about your avatar pic.

:P  I've got more bunny peep pictures than you will dream of!  Muahaha!

See, now we're into the light hearted fluff post phase of the thread.  I can't wait till Crappy gets on here later.  Wonder how many more times we'll be told that we're just online cyber wannabes who have no conception of reality and have to use the pathetic miserable time we have just to try and take down people who have real experience because we have no lives of our own?

Ok LA,

I have to ask..what is with the peeps. What do they represent to you? Thanks. I have been curious.

Both. I just received my BA (with honors) in anthropology. I am working on writing fiction, and I am also applying to graduate schools this fall. The focus is on cultural anthro. My unmentionable is almost raised which has been the reason I waited so long to finish up my academic work. I write mostly for fun, but I have been thinking of attempting to get published at it. The theft of my work took place during my undergraduate studies.
