Romney supported himself and his wife through college, Harvard business/law school and the birth of 2 of his children with that "nickel."

In todays dollars we're talking abut something in the 500k range at least.

Call it a gift it certainly looks like an early inheritance to me. It certainly made possible his giving away his official inheritance years later.

The Romneys were NEVER poor, or even middle class. That is a fallacy. Their meager little first place was a private residence in Cambridge one of the most expensive cities on the east coast at the time.

Funny, when the delegates voted "NO" overwhelmingly on a voice vote to to add God to the platform Bill Clinton didn't say anything about it in his speech. (You only do a voice vote when you know you're going to lose in hopes that "your guys" can make more noise than "the other guys".
So,.....they *don't* believe in God but,.....they *do* believe in "global warming" ( or whatever they're calling it this weekl).
And that O' Malley guy who was on a few speakers before Clinton was trying to get the crowd to yell out some of his key phrases. He sounded like one of those late night salesmen trying to sell you some Korean knives; "and how much do they cost? "THREE EASY PAYMENTS OF $9.99!!!"
And a few people have tried to compare job creation of Romney with others but you have to realize that for many years Mass had a *very low* unemployment rate of about 3-4% so it's hard putting people to work in that atsmophere when things are basically running at "full employment."
In those days you could walk in off the street with little to no experience and get a job paying $80 k per year.
In the 80's and 90's ALL my friends and family were making big bucks in Massachusetts.
And Bill Clinton presided over a roaring stock market!

Hmm, respect the office. Interesting thought. When the office was used to give the go ahead for water boarding and other tortures, it lost my respect. When the office was used to not even investigate the previous tenants concerning the water boarding and torture it lost my respect.

Respect needs to be earned, and shouldn't be blindly given. It's generally when people are just blindly following orders when atrocities happen.

I never said dont tell what a fucked up job they did. Hell, Im one of the first to say I cant stand Bush. But I wont be calling him shrub either.
