Free Reply. The original statement, posted by the Embassy before the attack, has been removed from the State Department website and from Twitter as well as the associated tweets. This statement was issued by the Administration through the State Department. It's been furthur confirmed the Administration did have information about real threats to our Embassies prior to the statement. The statement (issued by the Administration through the Embassy) did not warn that threatened attacks on American Embassies would not be tolerated but instead was written to sooth feelings and assure all that the Administration did not agree with the use of our Free Speech rights to show another religion in a bad light. Kumbaya and we now have a burnt out Embassy and dead Amercians. It must be noted there is no good reason for removing the orginal statement refered to by Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney when he refered to the Administration's posting as apologetic. The only possible reason is the Administration is embarrased by it and, failing to distance itself from it, has simply ... well, they simply erased it and hope that makes it go away. Obama = Carter.

I see this whole incident as a missed opportunity for Romney to actually do the right thing and look Presidential. When you run a country or a campaign, there are just too many things going on for you to have your finger into every decision. This stands for both President Obama and Governor Romney on both communications that went out - from the embassy and from the campaign. This tragic incident is not something to be politicized - it is the time when we close ranks. Romney had an opportunity to come out today and admit that something happened in his campaign that he is not proud of, that he was unaware of it until it had already gone out (which I will be generous and assume to be true), but that it was inappropriate, and unfortunate, and that such a tragedy was not something over which either party should be trying to score points on. Apologies all round, and get back to things. He comes off looking like a star, in charge and owning responsibility for his campaign. He did not do this. In my opinion, President Obama should have been silent on the issue rather than issuing his own rebuke today. Both parties cough up the football when the ball should have been downed and a timeout called.

However.......the statement came BEFORE the attack......not as a result of it. It was a statement that stated our shared values and commitment to religious freedom everywhere.......NOT, an apology. The diplomats are fighting and dying to promote those values we cherish.....they as are our soldiers.....are on the front lines. Those men and women are there doing a very difficult and sometimes dangerous job and we have Mittens dissing them, even before the smoke cleared. Mitt "doubled downed" today......seeming to be clueless that he`s looking and sounding like a complete jack-ass. As I said before......the only one`s buying this poop are the kool-aid drinkers and other malcontents.......they are never going to vote for the president anyway and so don`t count,anyway. But normal folks......swing voters and indys are going to recoil in disgust at how craven Romney is with this bogus,stupid attack.
