Its the reason for that suspicion.... thats why its called "profiling"... something he should not have been doing.

I disagree. Profiling is something everyone does every day. O'Mara demonstrated it quite well at the bond hearing in April.
I see someone running out of the store with a television, I profile him as a thief. Someone in a US Army uniform with Captain's bars, it's safe to profile him as a military officer.

Profiling is defined by Gilbreath in that hearing as "applying a predetermined thought pattern to a set of circumstances." That's how we work.

Which is why your question the other day was so absurd; you might as well have asked if I thought George was guilty of being alive.

Toysinbabeland -> RE: Update on Trayvon Martin case (10/16/2012 3:47:20 AM)

Profiling is simply intelligent. What are you supposed to do ignore clues and statistics?

Why was Z even suspicious of Martin to begin with?

Given that Zimmerman's NW handbook specifies that he's supposed to know who belongs there, the answer to your question is: "George Zimmerman's negligence'.

Its raining, its dark, he cant tell exactly what color Martin is, but he can tell Martin is on drugs or something.

I know several friends in law enforcement who say judging by how Martin was walking in the 7-11 they would have suspected he was on drugs or something too. So nothing odd about that.

POST FAIL!

Logical Fallacy: Appeal to (anonymous) Authority.

Except given the unsubstantiated opinion that it addressed, there wasn't the need to address it with anything more than another opinion.

No fail here.

Untrue. Nothing in that handbook says that George was required to know who is visiting someone who didn't live on his block.

And in this case, the profile was a black youth.

Raiikun -> RE: Update on Trayvon Martin case (10/16/2012 4:07:43 AM)

Although interestingly, that handbook DOES have a blurb under "What is suspicious" that says:

* Acting strangely.
Might be on drugs or illegal activity

I see no reason to make your assumption, or that George would have acted differently if it had been a white individual walking around in the rain suspiciously like he was on drugs or something.

Toysinbabeland -> RE: Update on Trayvon Martin case (10/16/2012 4:28:26 AM)

what does it matter who you are if you are acting strangely? if someone is acting strangely in my neighborhood I want my children safe... so please mister police officer make a point to look at everyone who is acting strangely keep them the hell away from my kids. if someone is acting in a disturbing way, I certainly don't want the cops to ignore it and go get a donut... let them work and let them do something with my taxes.

tazzygirl -> RE: Update on Trayvon Martin case (10/16/2012 4:31:12 AM)

No one has proven he was walking around like he was on drugs. That description will be interesting.

Nothing has shown he was on drugs that night.

Nothing has been shown he was doing anything wrong.

Just a grown man pretending to be a cop out following a kid around because the kid was walking in the rain.

I will be honest, Zimmerman will never have a normal life... and I am thankful for that.

Zimmerman isnt a cop

No one has proven he was walking around like he was on drugs.

And noone has proven even the probability that Zimmerman called for any other reason.

Which of course, is the important thing legally.

I'm sure he'll be fine though, possibly even a millionaire after settling with NBC and the numerous other potential lawsuit targets.

And you are so certain he did for just that reason.

Strawman. Seeing no reason to have doubt is not being "certain." He very well could have secretly wished he was 100% white so that he wouldn't have been rejected from the KKK Wannabe club; but I see no reason to make that assumption without some evidence to support it.

Raiikun -> RE: Update on Trayvon Martin case (10/16/2012 4:45:08 AM)

Other awesome tidbit from the motions filed yesterday; O'Mara intends to hold depositions for Natalie Jackson, Benjamin Crump, Ryan Julison, and possibly others who have interacted with/tampered with witnesses.

again, I do not claim Z is racist. I do believe he was racially profiling Martin. There is a difference.

Note, I didn't claim that you claimed Zimmerman was racist.

Show me where I said he was racist.
