ORIGINAL: Greta75 I am wondering how can dominants co-exist with cats and how they rationalize it, just because, cats are dominants themselves and will not hesitate to dom over any dominant. I ask this also because I have cats, and they are precious to me, but I also had issues with my past dom, who made me choose between my cats or him. And I had to choose my cats. I like having a cat around, they're good pets generally. Also, here in the real world, I am not the only one living in my house. I don't accept a cats dominance, and most cats I have owned seem to accept me as the pack leader/Great One. Perhaps the dogs instructed them. Cats need attention, feeding, letting out, they demand a portion of your time, like any responsibility. Treat a cat with love and respect, it will be returned to you, redoubled. Kind of like ...... a relationship. The bolded part. Cats need attention (on their terms). Letting out? Well, yeah, if you're inclined to let them out (mine are strictly indoor, since I don't want them exposed to cat-killing neighbors or other animals. Not to mention the diseases they could be exposed to outdoors, cars, etc). Yes, they DO demand a portion of your time, as does any living creature you take into your care.
