What Im failing to understand is why people would think a fourteen or fifteen year old would be able to afford or have the knowledge to bring a baby or babies into the world. And in what world do all of these fine young ladies eat from silver spoons and have June and Ward Clever for parents? Give me a fucking break. Oh yes - there is one exception, my next door neighbors, who are respectively fourteen and fifteen years old. They live in a mansion - and are the parents of fine healthy baby twins. I hear that he supports their family by delivering news papers. The only difficulty they seem to have is that her drunken mother sometimes doesnt make it into the house and passes out on their front lawn. - it must of prevented her from signing the permission slip. Good thing they can get married in a few years and boot her out the door.

The hilarity of this situation is that you believe parents are all teaching their children how to avoid such... they arent.... most bury their heads in the sands, tell their children "dont" and feel thats enough. How do I know that to be true? The number of teenage mothers I assisted in Labor and Delivery. Race plays no part, income doesnt either. Life is a CONTINUUM. The sperm is alive. The egg is alive. To suggest that life "begins" at any point is SCIENTIFICALLY INVALID. So, giving credit to scientifically invalid viewpoints is stupid. People's choice to be ignorant of the scientific facts underlying reproductive science isn't my concern, and it's no basis to make public policy decisions.

First of all, I'm not responsible for the wreckage of your life. Nor am I responsible for searching out posts you want to defend your position with. If you want me to see it, you research it and link it. Second, trying to assert your position that parents will not teach their children about STD's and citing your alleged conversations with your son as evidence that you have..? This is not a compelling argument. It's actually a pretty dumb argument. If you expect me to believe that no one will teach their children about STDs, what possible reason would I have to believe you when you claim that you have done that very thing? Unfortunately, you think this is about condoms and morning after pills. That seems to be the extent of your understanding about the issue. The real issue is simply this... The Conservative platform is that government should not be making these decisions for our children or for us without our consent or knowledge. You seem quite content to allow the government into your childrens life and you seem perfectly content to allow them to usurp your ability to be a parent without someone else having the right to intervene in the decisions you make as a parent. The "Conservative platform" is that as parents, you should be able to make those decisions. If you want to buy your kid condoms, you should be perfectly free to do that. If you want your daughter to have a morning after pill, you should be free to buy them. It's a simple concept. These programs allow children to access condoms and birth control in such a way that the parent is completely out of the loop. Your choice has been taken away, because you no longer need to be informed when your children ask for these things. Which makes me wonder why you even bother with the pretense that you want to be a parent in the first place, since you're perfectly content let the government take control of your childrens lives and make these decisions for you. -SD-

I rely on SCIENTIFIC FACTS. Which don't care whether or not I believe in it. Consider this example. Let's say you don't BELIEVE IN GRAVITY. Go ahead and jump out a window and see if your FAITH sustains you, or you plummet to your death. Once someone learns the difference between the two, ( hint: falsifiable hypotheses ) then they understand.
