ORIGINAL: cbx16v I disagree, Needlesandpins and so does the law. The law says stick to the left most lane (here) unless you need to overtake. If it is free why is the driver in front not in it? For all they know i could be an unmarked police car/bike. Police do not have to have their lights on to travel over the speed limit so the middle lane hogger shouldn't be looking out purely for flashing lights as a warning to move over. Our electronic overhead motorway signs have even started showing 'do not hog the middle lane' recently. It wasnt me who decided to display that, its the rules here. I'll do whatver speed suits the conditions in the left lane if its free, you'll not find me hogging the middle lane. If someone comes by me even faster and i can move safely into a slower lane i will because its courtious, why hold up someone else's day? The tailgating and squeezing past in gaps that don't exist, im with you on that and that's unacceptable. But the middle lane hoggers are another of my pet peeves. you are missing the point. if i am doing 70 in a 70 zone then fuck right off with expecting that you are any better a driver, or anything else. stick your arse a suitable distance behind me. when i'm ready to move i will, if not then tough luck. you are not the police, you are just someone that thinks he has the right to break the limit that the law sets for YOU. here's another thought for you; if people are in the middle lane then why arn't you in the outside lane mr speedy? or why not just give yourself more time to stick to the limits? the roads are not a race track, and you have no right to use them as such. take your bike, nudge right off, and use a speed track. at least there you are only putting likeminded people at risk, not general road users. needles
