This is a bit different on Romney and it comes via CBS.

it comes from Mormon author speaking about his book on CBS........ slight difference.

I get the gist of it though.

If you want someone to dig out your stump, vote for Romney. Likewise, if you want someone to give you two different versions of his views, audience dependent, vote for Romney.

Long answer, well thought out. But you didn't answer the question proposed....Which of the two opinions of Mr. Romney is his own? Which does he really believe?

And to answer, knowing the power of a nuclear bomb. Toronto is roughly 350miles from here. If they hit here they'd be killing themselves too. I would assumed they knew that as well so I would basically call their bluff. Just as I would hope they'd call mine on the same situation.

I couldn't care less if Romney flip flops or Obama does. Both have.

As to the Iran/Israel issue....people that fervent simply don't give a shit. They're gonna have 70 virgins...remember?

That's just not a salient fact to them...only that you die.

That they die is a complete afterthought.

Look at all the young children that are sent, told to feel virtuous, that they're going to save their kind by putting 10,000 roofing nails into some tourist by bursting themselves all over a transit center...or....hopefully....better....kill a Jew.

Gawd...if they can kill ONE Jew while inflicting permanent damage on 1,000 others....they get 70 virgins.

What a great deal....kill a Jew....get 70 virgins.

And they send children to do it.

The Christians weren't exactly nice guys 1,000 years ago but, thankfully we've moved on...educated ourselves. The Christian history is hardly filled with people who you'd want to spend a Sunday dinner with. Hell...leave your TV on while you sleep and you'll find all kinds of paid airtime (and why do they pay for this airtime? Because it's profitable) asking you for a simple donation to save (whoever the fuck they think they can suck you in with...little children, puppies...).

I don't vote, so I don't give a rats ass who gets in. I stopped voting, as a Republican, when Gore won with 1,000,000 more votes. That showed me that my (and your) vote doesn't mean shit. He wasn't who I chose...but he sure as hell was who "we" chose. That's the deal I was taught.

Doesn't appear as if, as best as I can tell, it actually works that way.

You have several choices DYB....vote for a guy who clearly doesn't have a clue, or vote for a guy who has something more of a clue. I won't debate which of those two I suspect meets either criteria...I flat out don't give a shit. The fact is, if Obama gets in...I'll make shitloads of money.

If Romney gets in....I'll make shitloads of money.

Here's the question....not how to make money but...because of your age....who's gonna protect my (your) Mom, equally true....who's gonna make sure that when your Mom gets to that place where she needs these things, the system isn't so fucking broken, those promises will remain true?

That's the question I'd ask.

And once you have that answer....that's who I'd vote for.

Wanna know the truth?

Obama's plan ensures that our debt will rise even through 2025.

Romney's plan, on the other hand....will ensure that our debt will rise even through 2025.

Hmmmm......

Now the real question is....which one of these two fucks has a better....shitty plan? Neither of which, by the way, calls for common sacrifice.

I actually don't know the right answer (clearly, having voted for Bush2, I ain't that fucking smart)....and I really....honestly don't give a shit because whether they tax me more or tax me less....I'm gonna make a shitload of money.

Maybe a better question is....how do you end up in the group that makes a shitload of money, regardless?

And if that's your question....stop fighting the people that are desperate to help you get there.

You'd be stunned at the % of people who are wealthy....who would love to see you buy the house next door, regardless of color or race....and they'll actually help you do it. (Honest Injin).

(But you have to listen...and quit spending unbelievable wasted effort explaining to them why their way doesn't work. You know why? 'Cause it's actually working just fine for them).

As a distinct aside....wanna learn how to make shitloads of money?

Stop fighting with the people who have...do what they've done....and ask them how you can join the club.

But...there's one small catch: You have to, once you get to any position of success....bring others up with you...even when they scream, and fight you at every step and tell you you're an idiot (as so many here absolutely love telling me).

In short, you have to care about the other guy. (More than yourself...and any argument as to why someone has more than you....is energy completely wasted not building yourself up so you can bring others up along side of you).

You'd be stunned at how many wealthy people do (care about the up and comers)...and how many want you in "the club".

(Black, White, Asian, Hispanic....every successful person on Earth would welcome you with open arms...so long as you work harder than you ever dreamed of and stopped blaming others for the failure of any race or group and just said "fuck it...I choose to win...everyone else can sit on the gawdamn sidelines for all I care...here's my hand....take it....I'm here to help").

Fast Reply:

One of the best things I ever heard when I was in my early 20's (when I was convinced...."all those older guys have it locked in....I'll NEVER be one of those guys....old boy network, etc....") was...."if you want to be a millionaire....do what millionaires do".

It took me until I was about 35 to realize that....that was fucking gold. I'm a bit of a late starter.

And since, I've watched and listened to every kind of person explain to me why rich people are fucked up (and let me be clear...I'm not rich...by most measures), how they strip the world of assets only to accumulate their own...everyone else be damned.

Some do.

Most don't.

It's actually rare that that type of person emerges because....the market has a self perfecting mechanism for assholes. It's called Bankruptcy.

Contrary to most people, I've never met a wealthy person who wasn't eager to give me their time and knowledge, and I'm incredibly thankful for their kindness in taking the time to educate me. Every one that I ever asked, sincerely (and "sincerely" requires that you're not wasting their valuable time...that you've actually given your efforts a minimum of 173% before even asking for a place in their schedule)...has given their time generously.

DYB....he's a politician.

He also....I think....believes in what he says. I actually believe Obama does as well.

Obama has changed sides too...and as often...their lips are moving. (That's how you can tell they're lying by the way).

There's your answer.

You can either accept it and realize that you'll probably never get anything better than that from any politician....or you can cry in your spilled beer and wonder why the world ain't fair.

(By the way....just for the record....the world ain't fair).

Well if I had two kids that hated each other I wouldn't be saying two different things. I'd be saying the same thing to everyone. I wouldn't stop and say to my friends. "look i know they hate each other and always will". No, I'd say "please help me find a way to make peace between the two no matter what we have to do to do it"....Right?

What you are saying is not making sense because it isn't logical.

So, he has a soul but is too big of a pussy to actually say what he means?

But....as a Father, you might tell David..."David your brother is really sensitive about this issue...you need to give him some slack" even as you internally think...."David really needs to get his ass kicked to learn something but...you also know that Leo, his brother, will take it too far if given free reign wherein which you might say to Leo "Leo....sometimes we need to bend, even when we know we're right....because our/your opinion may not always be absolute".

You might do that.

As a Father...even when you have a strong opinion about one thing or the other because....as a Father....you can't even be certain what the best course of action is because you.....can't read the future....and you've seen enough mistakes in life where things were absolutely, without debate....clear as a bell.

And then 6 months later (or even 30 years later) you discovered.....

There was far more to the story than was possible to grasp in that short window.

You're going to have to figure it out yourself because it appears no explanation is helpful.

Aww come on yachtie you are always so full of words, ideas, opinions. Surely you can tell me what he meant or if he just simply is either too much of a pussy or too stupid to know what he believes.......

Listen.

Discern.

There's a few here that do...but most of the posts I've seen state that there are two sides, one fits one group and one fits another.

You've clearly taken a position and that seems to fit you well.

Nothing wrong with that.

Your opinion is great. The point is why is he saying one thing to a group of donors in a private fundraiser and something completely different in public. Which is his true held view?

You know what - it just doesn't matter. I would vote for you before I would vote for Barack Obama. I know nothig about you - but more than I will ever need to know that I will never vote for Barak.

Idiotic security arranagments in Libya - resutling in 4 dead americans.
Bailing out wall street - not prosecuting.
4 years of 1+ trillion dollar deficits. Budgets that not even 1 democrat would vote for.
Cash for clunkers.
Gas prices more than doubled since he was elected.
Killed keystone.
Solyndra. Range.
Fast & Furious.

You seem to think Romney has a monopoly on lying. Obama lied when he said videos were the cause of the benghazi murders.
Obama lied and incited race hatred when he said that the federal govt didn't relax the 10% requirement because new orleans was black - when he himself voted against it.

Indeed I have. I shall also repeat why, as an Englishman, it concerns me. At present, and it never lasts btw, America is the worlds leader in many respects. As your closest allies it, who you elect affects us greatly. Romney, from what I have heard from him, would be a foreign policy disaster.
