Well, I must say as someone that has not been here long in time but has managed to get my $2 worth in on many threads, probably much to many people's annoyance, I have learned more about human nature, BDSM, and all around BS in this short amount of time on these boards than in several years of  RT. Does that mean I have no relationship right now, yep. Not really looking either. Some sweet thing is going to have to jump directly into my lap to get me excited. Do not want an online relationship at all, not my bag. Cannot spank or hug a computer. As far as RT BDSM, I live in Iowwwaaaaaa!!!! I work 10-12 hour days 5 days a week. I have a hobby farm. You tell me if I have no life! Most days I have too much, just not the right kind. But thats okay too, the world is not going to come to an end without spankings and hugs. Actually with friends and family the hugs are plentiful, again just not always the right kind.
When work is slow I have to be in the shop regardless. If I cannot find anything else to do, I open the CM window to see whats shaking. I can get a laugh, tease, and maybe if I am lucky, learn something.

Far be it for me to judge why anyone else may be here. #1 I don't know their story.........#2 It's none of my GD business anyway!!!!!

Participating on a forum is a lot like playing intellectual dodgeball. You can run off the court crying when you take one to the head and whine to the teacher that the other kids are being mean, or you can jump back in and learn to dodge and duck a bit better, and maybe score some points of your own.

I think the intellectual dodgeball is a great analogy. However, we also need to account for some players who seem to enjoy making targets of themselves. Kinda changes the game when intellectual masochists are playing, but it makes an amusing sideshow when the intellectual sadists are tossing the balls.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that posting.

Let's see....to the OP...

First, no I don't have to wonder. People rarely spend 24/7 with their SOs. People have jobs where they can access this webiste during the day. I frequently curl up on the couch with the laptop while Master watches baseball. We're cuddling and happy, while both doing something that bores the other.  I'm not privy to other people's situation, nor do I have the right to be.

Sab <~~~~ has no life, online all the time, I wonder why!? Hey, here's a kicker - could it be that the woman I am about to spend the rest of my life with lives in/on a different continent!? Could it be that I have a job where I have almost 24 hour access to the internet!? Could it be that I am also in the process of getting everything settled here before I move - HELL, pinch me - I HAVE a life, this is sooo not fair!?

1/10 for a bad attempt at a flame thread. :)

Good point, caitlyn.  Oddly, this man is the only one I've seen who changes nics to call people names; meatcleaver repeatedly became 'meataxe' when the OP didn't like what MC had to say.  <shakes head>  Maybe it's me, but I find that rude.

His point Arpig,

Was he is in an online relatinship and pissy because many around here don't see those as amounting to much and feeling insecure .  He wanted to vent that "we think we know everything".  If he is hapyy with his "online deal" who cares itf it suits him, who cares.

I can't even profess to be on the same level as, Level. I'm pretty much at the same point he is though, even at my level.
I work long hours, I am fortunate enough that I can be online and do what I want most of the time.

I'm spending a lot of time here right now, because Master is away, over seas currently and I am going to be joining him shortly.  I've got time to pass at the moment, so I'm passing it here, learning, as I don't get to even see Him online very often right now.  I'm sad and a little depressed and to be honest the silliness and humor of the boards pick me up..yeah I guess that's a little sad in and of it' self, but hey, whatever helps, right?

And Level and Meat cleaver I love both your posts almost all of the time

~dancer

Edited to add: We met online and moved to real life, YES internet love can happen

Thanks, dancer ....... now, wouldn't you say you like my posts a little better than Meatcleaver's? *grins*
Ohhhh, heck, his posts are pretty interesting.... hope he doesn't get a swelled head now lol.

desertdancer,

Pardon my intrusion, but i caught a glimpse of your post and just had to respond.  i know exactly how you feel as (my) Master is in the Middle East and has been for 19 months now.   i got to travel over there last September for a few days, but that was WAAAAAAY too long ago now.

We have the same difficulties in communication what with the time difference, work and everything.  So i do the same thing as you ... cruise chat sites for new friends, make my friends crazy talking about Him, sometimes just hide out at home to avoid the pain of seeing others together.  It DOES help chatting and talking with others.

Hope your visit is everything you want it to be -- good luck.

Thank you SlavetoMasterD !

I'm really really really missing Him.. I am lucky that I had rl time with Him but I am sad now that he is gone.  I've got plans to be with Him again soon, but soon is really never soon enough. We have an 11 or 12 hour time difference and I work evenings and he works mornings, and so now we just don't get any time.  We've been going on four years now and one of us has to pick a country !

I'm sorry too that you have to be away from yours, I'd offer to chat with you, but I have a firewall from HELL! It blocks all chat, and because of that I do find myself 'trolling' the boards here,. Cmming here and giggling at all the smart ass comments lightens my mood, and I learn so much to from the older posters, LA almost always has an answer for me, even if it isn't always an answer I'm wanting to hear!

I'd never been into anything D/s'ish untill Master and our time together was not long enough, we arn't doing anything online and he asked me to find out what I'd might like to do, I had no idea where to start, so I wandered onto CM and have been hooked ever since.

I hope you nd He can be together soon, it's hard when you miss even the little moments like a slight brush of their touch, or a sparkle of eyes.

Yours,
dancer

LOL I have to say
that was a very good observation
you cant really tell others they have no life for posting so much when you post just as much as they do

Why thank you Meatcleaver for the AV compliment.

Does anybody think that maybe this was a trap? When Brosco comments on the fact that the 'regs' slam the 'newbies', making them (the newbies) fell unwanted, makes them crawl away and lick their wounds, and blah blah blah.

I'm not saying people have slammed him in this thread, but there have been a lot of objections (myself included) about his OP. Maybe he wanted to prove a point?

And have you noticed he hasn't posted for, like, five pages?

Yup what she said. My boy has been traveling for the last 2 weeks and currently isn't even in the country. Posting and keeping my kinky energy channeled has been a priority to unwind.
Good, bad or indifferent about my opinions they are what they are...my thoughts. Even when people agree with you there still seems to be an arguement. Occasionally on here you get those that have gone off their medication AGAIN and choose to flame and hey so what...I've got teflon undies and can wait till they go back on the meds or "the keepers" take their computer away. Whether you believe I have a real life or not doesn't matter, my boys do, my community commitments do, my neighbors that are watching me  installing my own sprinkler system, working in the garden, laying sod, taking care of fosters and wanting to die because it's 100 degrees outside all know. So from the other side of a screen, on the other side of the world, it doesn't really matter.

I'm online alot cuz my slave lives about 2 hours away, (we'll be reunited by the end of the summer) and honestly I dont think that spending time online is bad, its a good thing to do when you're not seeing anybody or when you're away from your slave or dom or whateva you got. it sure beats my old pastimes: (marijuana, cocaine, dxm, painkillers, alcohol,..the list goes on)
were here cuz we like it and there is nothing wrong with it. looks whose talking Mr 120 posts in 17 days?
