ORIGINAL: TheWriter13 I'm curious what was your opinion of the book as a BDSM kinksterer and or life stylist? Pulp! Unrealistic, in every aspect, not well written, way too much drama, she was almost grasping at straws to keep the reader interested, (I could not get through two chapters of the third book), very happy I did not buy one of them, although it seemed to sell well and was the topic of conversation in my office IMO an epic fail if her intent was to draw an audience of BDSM kinksters. Because I read through the comments, I must say, The Story of 'O' was extremely well written. Although it was not realistic, the writing style was superb. I hated it the first time I read it, and found more interesting the second and third time I read it, because it provoked a great deal of thinking. The Beauty series, I found pure pulp...but most erotica I find pretty much in that category...and I only read the 50 series because my adult daughter read it first and begged me to read it. (Side note she was pretty much taken with the first one but found disappointment in the second and read less of the third than I did.) In regards to the heart throb Christian Grey, well he sort of made me throw up a little bit. I think he needed to lower his viagra dosage a little bit because he was fucking Anastasia every other page and her virgin vagina I am sure was not throbbing with excitement but throbbing from over use, those two were like rabbits. But I DO understand Anastasia's eye rolling, I did a lot of that while reading the book, and I also bit my lip to keep from laughing at times. I did refuse my partner's desire to read the book, I felt he would think he might be lacking compared to Christian and I definately would not want him trying to emulate him, although have Christian's money at least for a few weeks would be kinda fun but I would not be buying $2000 undies.
