*laughs* I'm not too hardcore for Disney. Jesus, you're talking to the guy who cries at every romantic moment in a movie. "Dark and dangerous" just isn't me. Heck, when someone once called me a "Disney Dom" in a pejorative sense I took up that banner whole-heartedly. I just don't like the company itself.

Insofar as your understanding of international IP law, you need some education. Look up PIPA and SOPA for starters since those are pretty recent. By the way, this isn't some unreasoned hysterical response on my part. Or, if it is, my brother who is actually a bar certified lawyer agrees with me. Disney is about as pure and innocent as Monsanto or Walmart.

Right you are, Jeff, Disney's a pretty dark bunch, however I always loved (and always will) Fantasia. That's really the only one of theirs I've ever cared for.

We celebrated my 55th birthday the other night (in part) by watching Disney films, and lamenting that I don't have enough Disney in my DVD library. So I'm thinking the answer to the question in the thread title is "no." So far, anyway.

ooooh ohhhhhhhohhhhhhhhhh TDP Hellooooo stranger...so happy to see you here, huggggggs

If you want the horror version of fairy tales, you should check out Grimm, now in its second season.

One of my favorite movies when I was little was called Song of the South. Also known as Uncle Remus. Don't know who made it, but it was banned due to severe rascism. Zip-a-dee-do-dah was one of the best songs.

As I was reading all the posts, I thought of this movie, I clearly remember it as a child, and due to being innocent and a child and all, I had no clue about its context. I just liked uncle Remus, and Brer fox, Brer Rabbit, and Brer Bear. And the song is awesome.
*singing* How do you do? Fine how're you?

My dad sang, "kiss the girl" for years long after the movie was out. I loved hearing him sing it. Thanks for bringing that memory back :)

I was just thinking about how many very special memories are centered around family movie nights and the songs we sang from various Disney movies on long vacation car rides.

Good times

I'm about to turn 50 and still love all the movies my parents took my sister and me to when we were little. The Kurt Russell movies, Aristocats, Lady & the Tramp, Flubber, they were all fun. I have some on DVD, others I'd love to purchase. I like the ones made in the much earlier years. I know it's not Disney but Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is one of my absolutely favorite movies, running neck & neck with it of course is Blazing Saddles. I know it's not a kid's movie, but it makes me LMAO whenever I see it. THAT one I have on DVD and watch often. Mel Brooks is a genius and his movies are great for laughs.
