I cant wait for some political rally where some little kid looks up at his father, points and says "Daddy, is that the stupid one you're talking about?"

You do understand that the Bible states that God already knows what we are going to do before we do it, right? If you believe in predestination, then getting pregnant from rape can be seen as intentional. It could be seen as a "test" of one's faith for that same reason.

Don't take that as a defense of Mourdock, just presenting a possible rationale for his belief. I have my personal beliefs about abortion, and I take the stand that Government should keep out of the decision-making.

So if I go and cut out Mourdocks tongue he shouldn't get upset cause it was predistined and only a test?

Or his dick? [:D]

So what are the conservatives bitching about, it is set in motion, God's will that the abortion take place, people can't have it both ways, God's will only works for them and not for others

What came first? The Chicken or the Egg?

It had to be the egg. That's where mutations initially manifest, so, the egg had to have come first, unless you are going to make the claim that the chicken is the evolutionary fore of life.

Not sure how you jump to that conclusion. The rapist wasn't absolved of responsibility, and wouldn't be, thus your cutting out his tongue would still bear consequences for you.

However, if you cut out his tongue, he might not talk about it too much. [8D]

No, but in both cases the person that did the act got away....So in that case he shouldn't be upset at all. It is simply a challenge from God....a growing experience. Or as Vincent said.....If he dick got cut off.....Que sera , sera...right?

I'd also suggest a bit more time in church cause your Christian beliefs aren't what the truth is.....

I find your reasoning confusing, DS. Getting pregnant from rape is not something that a woman does.

No one said it was.
quote:

It is what happens to her.

Yes.
quote:

In this case God knows what the rapist is going to do and what the outcome will be. The woman is a passive victim of the rapist's evil and by extention the evil of God who could have prevented the act. But of course it wouldn't be kosher for God to interfere with the rapist's free will.[8|]

Obviously, you haven't seen Clash of the Titans, have you. Even the Olympians fought about the need to stay out of mortals' fates.[8D]

I rely on Kirata's example in Post#10 to clear up your confusion.

Edited to Add:

He knew you were going to say that. [:D]

What is it with the GOP? First Todd Akin, now this moron. Do they have a never ending series of grossly repulsive cretins running for public office?

Despite their insistence that the woman should suffer for being raped by being condemned to keep any child that results, I have never heard one of them suggest that all the rapist's property be taken off them to pay for that child's upkeep, education etc. Would that be interfering with the right to private property? Which bit of rape isn't interfering with the woman-victim's private property?

I wonder how loudly would these sanctimonious creeps holler if they were the ones being raped?

The GOP ended about 30 years ago when the Religious nuts took over. [X(]

HW, could you please organise a revival movement?

DomYngBlk -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 5:51:16 AM)

lol so there is no "free will" in Christian teaching? Look you can go on believing the nonsense you believe but don't try to pass it off as christianity.

It would seem that neither party has a limited supply. This guy is further proof that a theocracy is not a good idea at all.

That is left up to the American justice system, actually.

Oh another one! And people wonder why republicans are such a farce.....So Free Will doesn't exist in Christianity? Come again?

If Life is so precious why doesn't God fix that miscarriage thingy . . . yanno, natural abortion. God is a mighty pain in the uterus.

Predestination and Free Will can co-exist.

But, we can get into that in another thread, if you'd like. I'm still waiting for your "truth" sermon.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 5:54:11 AM)

That was my "truth" sermon. You conveniently forgot to mention the rapists free will in all of that posturing at the beginning. If you want to say you were wrong initially we can drop it.

subspaceseven -> RE: Now God intended rape to happen. (10/24/2012 5:55:15 AM)

That is if you believe in god, which many many many people do not.....so forcing gods will on them seems a bit selfish of god doesn't?

So if a person who does not believe in god gets raped, and the rapist does not believe in god, then what???
