Doms, who say "kneel bitch" on the first meeting?
People on here that only give you links to threads....and sites....geez, move away from the computer and get a life!
Smart asses, that only make me laugh, but I do enjoy that!
However, I hate some of the advice that is said in the manner of "this is the way it is, there are no options?"
Are there not always options and understanding and agreements and communication and meetings of the minds?
I think some people should read my profile and then contact me as a friend, if that is what they wish?
I just want to kick somebody tonight....Thankyou for letting me vent.
smiles, Anne

Just because it hurts doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

I've been privileged to have met some of the most knowledgeable people in the scene and one characteristic all of them see to share is a modesty about what they don't know.  The scene is like that; it's just so huge and complex.

Of course the same questions do keep getting asked so I'm gratified that people are willing to do the research and direct people to references where they can get answers to their questions.  It's a lot more efficient use of bandwidth.

Of course, there are those who prefer heat to light.

Online or real life? If its just online, seeing the internet is a creative avenue for written expression and has no real influence on my life, I would find someone saying that to me kinda amusing. Why fret it?

If its real life...ummmmmmmmmmmmm....I think I would find that funny too.

I see the internet as a past-time, a recreational activity. What difference is interacting online to choosing to read a book, watch tv, sew, paint, or numerous other things we choose to do with our lives.
Only problem I would see with internet usage is if someone just gets wrapped up in a fantasy life on here..but even then, if one chooses to do that, well at least its giving that person something to do.

People are like that online and offline. There have always been opinionated people around who try to force their ideas on others and there always will be. Nothing to worry about.

Hope your day gets better

Amen and kick away!  There is Zen saying that "those who say they know, don't."  Pretty good rule around here too.

Ignore them.  They/we know nothing about you that you don't tell them/us, so our/their advice isn't based on anything relevant to you.

I'm only a know-it-some....

When someone begins to feel they know it all, they have just shown how little they know.  I will not say that I learn something new every day, but damn near it.  I learn from various venues and varied people.  A question from someone beginning their exploration can cause me to think about my own ideas and thoughts.  Over many years of talking to people and discussing things, I have learned to appreciate the introspection that a simple question can cause.

One very interesting thing you will discover from watching the know it all types is the fact that they will comment constantly in every forum and have an answer to every post.  Often the answers have little relevance to the question being discussed, but they just have to speak.  When faced with the possibility of showing their ignorance when asked a direct question, they will flame someone or will find a way to disrupt the continuity of the discussion.  As order returns to the thread, they become silent, once again having escaped the difficult task of simply saying..."I dont know."

Even know-it-alls can be helpful at times. I tend to look beyond that to see if the information is any good. If the info is good, well I take it and go on my way. I do love a spirited debate now and again about opinions, but I can separate opinions I do not agree with from facts that are handy to have.

I think it is proudsub' sig line that says... "you are allowed your own opinions but not your own facts" (Alan Dershowitz originally said this I believe). There are very few facts in this world, the rest is debatable.

As far as being bugged by any of this, I come here for entertainment purposes and informational purposes...  basically take what I need and leave the rest. If I get upset by a thread I usually leave it permanently.. not worth changing my head space over. I would suggest you try that if you find something upsetting. The only thing I resent seeing on forums is name calling. I have no patience for it. But other than that if people found something that works for them and they want to share this with others.. well sometimes I am sure that comes off as The One True Way..maybe it is also ego talking? Either way it doesnt upset me much.

You're assuming that people who post here a lot have no lives. Read the thread 'Who is Really Offline' Then come back, and ask that quesiton again.

On collarme especially I find when you express your opinion on a thread and someone doesn't agree they send nasty reponses back. Anyhow I agree with you totally. An opinion is just that , doesn't mean one is wrong or right.

While it's true that there are people like that online and offline, I find they're a LOT more prevalent online than in the real life BDSM community.

Just for the record, I am opinionated in real life too.   Some of my opinions were formulated by learning and testing the opinions of others... so, I don't see them as a bad thing, and I often equate them with passion.

Offering an opinion isn't necessarily a know-it-all thing, but the way someone interprets the question/discussion/topic/ information.  It's much better to ask a question and get a thoughtful response (whether you agree with it or not),  than to get a blank stare.  The message boards would be REALLY informative and interesting if no one had an opinion, don't ya think?

Tonight seems to be the night for people post to a forum all of their complaints about people who post to forums.  Weird.
