Please tell me you don't buy his faux religious bullshit line ,please tell me that you realize America will need do more than simply pray her way out of this morass .
Please tell me you realize Beck is nothing more than a snake oil salesman, please

You might want to read what VP Biden said to Mr. Woods.

Nothing to do with Beck other than he was interviewed on his radio show.

LMAO
just like Mourdoch (who said said today....Romney looking better and better while Obama seems devoid of anything new. May try October surprise, bomb someplace! Remember Clinton?) has nothing to do with what fox news presents as "fair and balanced"

I just read an interesting article, in which the premise is that the progressive wing of US politics has retreated from any kind of real desire to discuss issues, or negotiate to achieve their goals.

Instead, they have retreated to snark and the demonizing of anyone who disagrees with them. The further to the left, the stronger this inclination.

Since Obama was rated as "the most liberal" senator, I've seen nothing in this campaign that discounts the article's thesis and plenty to support it.

Firm

In the spirit of things let me just say....bullshit!
That should just about cover it...and by "it" I mean your phony article ,your claim of snark ,your implied assertion that the right has any desire to negotiate (by the way to "negotiate" means to enter into discussions wherein there is a possibility and even a desire for give and take from both sides.Your side and their bullshit Grover Norquist pledge has never been willing to move and/or negotiate anything in good faith).Firm this stance of yours is old ,tired and so very full of shit believe me the only ones buying your act are those idiots who stand on the same side of your aisle.
So to your OP to your post....and to you.....BULLSHIT.

I guess your post amply confirms that you as a progressive, mike.

btw, here's a link to the "phony article".
Firm

I sure hope it does Firm....most of your posts confirm that you are a member of that reasonable bunch of fellows known as tea baggers.
I sort of like my crowd a little bit more than yours.
have a nice day,by the way,I have followed enough of your links to know I shouldn't waste my time ,particularly if it is only going to lead to more of that same bullshit you have been peddling.Get back to me when your guys enter office beholden to only the one pledge

Teabagger? You mean someone who believes in small government, and lower taxes?

Yup, guilty.

But your use of the term, and your sarcasm and snark and dismissive attitude about anyone who might hold an opinion other than yours is a perfect example of what this thread is about.

No Firm your championing of a group whose whole purpose is single minded adherence to one ideological pov, while deriding a lack of willingness to negotiate with that same group is what this thread is about.
In other words ....you are full of shit.
Your side of the aisle comes at governance having already made a pledge to one Grover Norquist and you decry the Presidents lack of success in working with these assholes.
Than you come here and try to score points off the very gridlock created by this situation.
Again you are full of shit.
Your position is full of shit.
And any elected official who is operating under more than just his basic oath of office is full of shit
Did I cover everything ?
Now back to your regularly scheduled broadcasting wherein Firm tries to replicate a reasonable and flexible man, good luck with that whole act Firm.

Gee. More snark and insults.

What the progressives in power wish is that people of the other party, who do not believe in the same ideology, should do is give up their beliefs. The people who believe in limited government should completely ignore their beliefs, and subsum their will to that of progressives. Failure to do some gets them labeled as "full of shit", "bullshitters", "out of the mainstream" etc, etc, etc.

However, if a statist progressive refuses to compromise his beliefs, that gives him "integrity", makes him "principled" and makes him your hero.

This administration told the Republicans in Congress to shut up. That they had lost the 2008 election, and they were going to be ignored. Unfortunately for the Democrats, the 2010 election said that the American people disagreed, and they gave the Republicans control of the House.

When that House then proceeded to act on the principles that they were elected on, you and your buddies call them names and dehumanize them.

Sorry, but hypocrisy is also a statist progressive hallmark.

Bottom line Frim ...How many oaths can any given man be true too at any given time ?
Which party had their nominees all raise their hands when asked if they would walk away from a compromise deal that had 1 dollar in new taxes for every 10 dollars in spending cuts ?
Now one little insult in either question
Of course their isn't a whole lot of room for your usual bullshit either

Say, Firm, did you see the story about the North Koreans executing a general by forcing him to stand on a spot that was zeroed for a mortar round?

Think any of our friends here wish they knew how to work one?

I know, Rich.

I've decided that there is very little chance of having a civil conversation with many of them. Liberals I can stand. I can even have a good time with them. Statist progressives are a lost cause.

I'm really interested to see, in a detached intellectual manner, what this election will give us as a nation. I think we have a statistically large number of really dangerous true-believers who will go off on the deep end if Obama is defeated.

You think it was bad when Bush won in 2004? Get ready for turbulence in US civil and political society. The 60s will be a walk in the park, in comparison.

If Obama wins, after another four years, I seriously doubt that we will ever become a rational society without massive amounts of unrest and bloodshed.

Not advocating, or hoping. Just the opposite, actually. But looking at it for a historical and sociological perspective, it's going to be "interesting times" in the Chinese sense.

I think the re-education camps will have some pretty "interesting" examples of "education". All of those sub-human "fly-overians" and "bullshitting conservatives" will give them lots of opportunity for their creative impulses.

You first need to know math, in order to interpret the firing tables.

Firm, the next time I know I'll be carrying a firearm will be the day we get the Zimmerman verdict. I'd really rather not feel the need on election day.

Unchecked, the damage this President could cause in a second term might very well only be corrected by the means you describe, but he will most certainly not be left to his own devices. A narrow victory a week from Tuesday will still leave him blocked until '14, and that election would likely give a veto-proof majority to Repubs in Congress.

America is moving into a position of just not liking this guy so much, anymore. (Whether that shift will be sufficient before the election, well, I made my bet, but the head/heart/gut combination I prefer isn't there.) The very best he can hope for is a win so tight they'd need to liposuction off the First Lady's badonkadonk, and that gives him no mandate at all. As the consequences of his failed policies were compounded, his numbers would wind up making Bush II look popular.

Interesting, well reasoned article you might enjoy. Kinda math packed, so I doubt "our friends across the aisle" will spend much time on it :
