I don't necessartily want government making choices about who lives and who dies but if one of the people responsible for creating that life want to parent that child, why are they denied that ability? It's her body? Fine then it's her responsibility to prevent pregnancy (and I support birth control whole-heartedly). If it is her responsibility to prevent it and she fails, she has a responsibility to that life and to her partner in creating that life.

Way to take something that isnt 100% guaranteed and treat it like it is.
Do you support abortions for when the birth controll fails?

True story, D is on the pill, and when we first got together years ago I wore condoms as well. One day, a condom broke. We thought it would all be fine because she is on the pill as well. We were wrong. She was that lucky .1% chance. (Factor adjusted for combinations of 99% effective birth controll methods) We weren't ready for kids (hell, we still aren't). It has been 4 years since that happened, and we still don't have any children.

By your logic, even though we were responsible and tried to prevent the unwanted pregnancy, we had a responsibility to the little parasite leeching off my girlfriend.
Screw that.
And none of that "God's will" blather, please. Your opinion, you're entitled to it...we don't share it and don't want to be harangued about it.

And my un-born child that was murdered by its "mother"? That sweet, innocent, helpless being that had not even had a chance to any wrong in this world? That was not endangering the poor excuse for a woman that was incubating it? Unimportant?

Part of my problem with the Pro Feticide crowd is the complete lack of humanity and emotional disconnect with which they treat an un-born human being.

If I caught a dolphin and cut her babies out of her womb to use for shark bait, I'd be a monster, though.

Yep antipathy (or in a lot of cases; animosity) toward life is a cool position to defend. Look who's standing on the same side of that issue with you.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Sorry, you've mis-understood me. You BOTH AGREED as to a course of action and I am willing to support that in a grudging manner. I don't like it but it isn't my life or my child. I have issues but they're the same issues that I have with people using drugs.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

ETA: As an adendum to my talk of the pro feticidists' disdain for life, please take note of the use of the word parasite (which usually carries a negative connotation). Kudos to you for helping to illustrate my point!

Of course you would. So would someone who cuts open a woman for her fetus.

And, yes, I know you wont respond.

But.. again... its NOT YOUR BODY.

Even if we wanted to keep the fetus, we would still refer to it as a parasite...because thats what it is. It leeches off the mother offering no positive effects (save for prego fetishes andlactating fetishes, but tthat's not the point here) and taking taking taking. It doesn't breathe for itself, it doesn't ingest its own outside food supply, it leeches of the mother. My use of the word wasn't negative, it was acurate.

DS, it has been pointed out to you repeatedly that the time to make decisions about babies and pregnancies is before the foetus comes into being, not afterwards.

If you have a strong POV on this issue, by all means make it clear to your partner before you indulge yourself in the pleasures of making babies. But so many men refuse to do this because if their Neanderthal POVs were known to the women they're trying to bed, the women would drop them like lead balloons.

So, once again, here it is for you in very simple English: Make the decisions jointly before the sex happens, not afterwards. That way there won't be a disagreement about how the pregnancy proceeds. Stop trying to have it both ways - it doesn't wash with today's women. The days when men had everything their own way died out decades ago. And they are never ever returning. So get used to it.

Whew, thanks for letting me know what I was doing wrong. See, I just thought I was voicing my opinions, I didn't know I was supposed to be DEBATING you!

Wow, I misinform myself often I guess.

FR,
So, without PP, there is no access to contraceptives, huh?

For poor women who otherwise cannot afford gyno care? No.

It's amazing how so few women know how to not get pregnant without contraceptives. Maybe we should include this kind of information in our Health classes in grade school....

There is more to gynecological care than contraceptives.

What's wrong? AFRAID to answer the two simple questions I asked???

FIRST: What makes "human life" so special in the first place? I mean, on one hand, we're all just animals with big brains and opposable thumbs. That's *useful*, but not necessarily enough to require special consideration.

So, WHAT'S YOUR METRIC REALLY? What makes "human life" so special?

SECOND: How do you feel about Private Property Rights?

So if the lady you impregnated decided to abort - I would say thats YOUR PROBLEM. Not mine or anyone elses. Its not up to you what I decide to do here, there or anywhere when it comes to the reproduction between me and my partner.
And its none of your or anybody elses business whether I have a complete lack of humanity or emotionally disconnect with anything. I could care less if you or anyone else has a problem with it. People kill all the time - animals kill all the time - do I approve? Depends on the situation. Death is a part of life - get used to it.

Yes, any contraceptive containing hormones are contraindicated for most forms of cancer and survivors. So, to determine if a woman can take any of those, these tests are performed.

Yet, not all the contraceptives offered by PP contain hormones, now do they?

No argument there. Never was, either. However, the title of the thread states that PP patients have the fewest abortions. In the OP, it is also stated that those patients have fewer unplanned pregnancies, thus reducing the number of abortions. This, then, it would seem, has to do with contraception/pregnancy prevention. Ergo, contraceptives.

there's more to preventing pregnancies than just contraception. Education is even more important but unfortunately, the Bible thumpers are against that as well.
