That's precisely the crux of the matter. If society collapses, the earth hardly stops spinning. Anarchy prevails and then new governments take form which aren't necessarily as liberated socially, economically, etc.

Not necessarily any worse, either, of course.

You deny that sales of weaponry has been through the roof and will continue to do so?

Any validation for this opinion?

Uhhhm......that would be gun manufacturing, bullets and sales therein up substantially over the last 4 years.

Well, no, not really, since 2005 in all actuality. so last 5, last 6, last 7, last 8 nearly....

OH there are a great many liberated  governments both socially and economically that took over from very conservative ones, in most of the world, with the exceptions in the middle east.

The soviet union collapsed under its own weight, the berlin wall came down because west germany picked up east germanys debt, and there never has been a open and inclusve world, that is right up there that one; in the top 10 most cretinious bits of fantasy and unreality I have heard in my life..

The Berlin wall came down because West Germany picked up East Germany's debt?

(Now that's a new take on history).

Waltz me thru the old take on it, the one where the separate germanys wanted to have a clearer shot at each other to remain separate. But don't sing the St. Wrinklemeat song.

Oh the ignorant irony in your post, lol.

The economic problems in Cuba is due to American Socialism...for wealthy sugar farmers in Florida! We massively subsidize sugar farming in Florida an ban imported sugar from Cuba. But many of you support communist loving wallmart, lol,!

Cuba has a lower infant mortality rate and a higher literacy rate than the US. Cuba's economic issues are heavily affected by us economic boycot due to the importance of florida in the elections.

And its Communist China that is kicking our economic ass. Besidrs, anyone who has flown or drank coffee has experienced the benefits of socialism. Starbucks was very much a worker owned company as us SouthWest airlines.

All systems have strengths and weaknesses, none is perfect, they are tools, smart people try and maximize the strengths and minimize the downsides and use the best practices of all of them.

Sure....believe that.

FR

stockpiling weapons = nutty extremists. i don't have a problem with a person having a gun or two to hunt or protect their family, but anything other than that points to paranoia and/or mental illness.

eta: this exists on both ends of the political spectrum.

stockpiling = nutty extremists

person with 1 or 2 = ok

person with more = paranoia or mental illness

Do note I did not mention anything about stockpiling... just that some own more than 2 who are collectors.

Your limits are arbirary and betray a lack of knowledge about the why and how of gun ownership.
Shot gun...one pump, one over and under for trap and skeet...the pump is to set the sucker up and the over and under is to take his money with.
Rifle...30-06 inexpensive way to tear up paper at long range 1000 yds and up. .223 inexpensive way to tear up paper at ranges out to about 500 yards.
Pistol...xp100 in cal .220 swift expensive way to tear up paper at 1000 yds. Thompson contender with half a dozen barrel/rcvr sllightly less expensive way to tear up -paper at ranges up to 500 yds.
.45 govt model for the boggy man
Technically that is ten firearms only three of which are semi-auto one will fire two shots before reload, the others are single shot weapons that need to be reloaded after each shot.
Not everyone who has more than two firearms has an arsenal of kalishnakovs.

Just wanted to comment some common misunderstanding of Americans concernig socialism. First, you've never experienced socialism, not even with FDR, so you have such misconceptions that one can't know where to begin. Nazism wasn't even a special branch of it as someone said, the word socialism in its name was just a lie. The Nazi party was a perfect blend of capitalism -see the association with the Krupps for instance- and nationalism, nothign to do with socialism. Obama isn't a socialist, just a left wing capitalist. Socialism can be good -like in Sweden or Britain in the 60's- or not so good like in Cuba. There's even something in the middle like Germany's social market economy. In America there's more risk of a soft kind of nazism if the extreme right in the Republican party gets stronger than of any sort of socialism. Believe me.

What is the problem with socialism in cuba as you see it?

That it's not working?

Would you have any validation for this opinion?

No, I suspect, even for you, the newspapers, their continuing and declining GDP, the fact that to get an air filter for a car (which is the newest they have) for a 1964 Belvedere costs about 100 bucks....I think that ought to be a reasonable starting point.

It has been my experience that when someone cannot substantiate their opinion they will pick a spellling or grammar error to comment on...that is why I put them in.
I am still waiting for you to susbstantiate your moronic post with something more substantial than your opinion.
