Pat-Fucking-Robertson is pissing and moaning about the War on Christmas.

And he should shut the fuck up.

If you want to celebrate Christmas ON CHRISTMAS, no-one cares. BUT, when you start shoving it in our faces all the time for months? Fuck that shit. You just abused your privilege and now you all can just shut up about Christmas, and celebrate it quietly in your own homes.

Ho Ho Ho, fargle

MsLadySue -> RE: I, for one, fully support a War on Christmas. (11/19/2012 7:54:39 PM)

There ought to be a law that no Christmas advertising or music be allowed before December 1.

tazzygirl -> RE: I, for one, fully support a War on Christmas. (11/19/2012 7:59:40 PM)

Im cool with the day after Thanksgiving.

I say the major corporations (in the United States) should quit putting Christmas messages in their advertising.

My God man.....this clearly is offensive to anyone who is a rational thinking human being....fuck....next thing you know they'll be putting up some kind of white dusted pine tree's with some kind of December 25th message....clearly it's some kind of heresy message towards Christ and all.

Fuck...what will they think of next?

Fucking corporate pricks.

Bastages.

If you're referring to the American Thanksgiving, then I would agree.

You lack the Christmass spirit, Farglebargle. That is sad: not to love all mankind.

Meanwhile, we in The Netherlands celebrate Sinterklaas (& Zwarte Piet) on 5 December. It was only the past Saturday that they arrived by steamboat from Spain in our country.

After having celebrated his birthday (which actually is on 6 December) we will put Christmass trees in our living rooms.

Maybe stores and major corporations start pushing Christmas so early because their research has shown that that season can be a profitable time for them?

However, I think the commercialization is a bit much. We should curtail it. Forget what the constitution says.

We should also restrict sales of chocolate and roses on 14 FEB. Ooooops! There's that pesky constitution, again!

I know; let's give an amnesty to every turkey in the states that runs from 01 NOV until 01 DEC (never mind. I'm seeing a pattern).

Ya know, I don't see people starting threads to bitch about the Yule log or Kwanzaa or Chanukah. Why is it, when people make a conscious choice to hate religion, they go for Christians, first? It can't be because of some kind of prejudice. Could it?

Ho! Ho! Ho! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

It is because they know that Christians will forgive them and love them whatever they do.

There are hundreds of millions of Christians who do love you, Farglebargle.

Go piss on somebody else's Wheaties.

Campaign to abolish X-mas celebration by gentiles

"...according to the known Jewish ruling that Christians are idol worshippers." (Likkutei Sichos 37:198)

A gentile...is liable for the death penalty...if he has invented a religious holiday for himself...The general principle is we do not allow them to make new religious rituals and to make 'mitzvahs' for themselves by their own devices." (Rambam Mishne Torah—Hilchos Melachim 10:9)

Which may disquiet some of us who cherish Christmas as a spiritual time and mourn the loss of Advent.

But fear not ...

I have a theory that this cycle will play out over a few decades. As merchants start earlier and earlier, the special time of the year will shift from Christmas to Not Christmas. Eager to cash in, merchants will begin having Not Christmas promotions and starting the NC season ever earlier. In a century or so, Christmas should be back where it belongs.

No it's not. Please take your persecution complex elsewhere.

I've nothing against people celebrating anything nice - in fact, I'm all for celebrating nice things. I'm all for giving and receiving presents all the time. I love the ideas of goodwill, peace and friendliness that Xmas is supposed to promote. But I don't want the commercial aspects of Xmas shoved in my face all day everyday from early November through to the New Year. It's more than I can bear.

So let's eliminate the money spinning, greedy aspects and get Xmas back to what it's supposed to be about - a joyful religious festival for believers, and a nice cheerful party time for the rest of us. Surely believers can echo those sentiments.

I celebrate what ever I want to.
You celebrate what you want to.
If you want to tell someone else that they can't celebrate then you run the risk of me deciding what you can do.
you don't want me choosing for you,
I'll probably make you drink hot cocoa and sing happy songs.
I'm cruel like that.

I am afraid I have to agree. Christmas in February forward in some stores is utterly ridiculous
Couldn't we pass law that states NO CHRISTMAS decorations between January 15 to November 23?

Of course we could do that; which would lead to someone passing a law banning ugly yellow shirts. The slip on that slope is endless.

Why not just pass a law outlawing Christmas entirely? Why not pass a law saying that since so many people hate religion in this country, no one should be able to engage in it?

While I'm using absudity to make my point, it isn't all that absurd. There are people who would be "on board" with those ideas; just as they claim that there are "Christmas celebrators" trying to shove Christmas down their throats.

I never understood why if a person doesn't believe in something, it seems to bother them so much? I don't believe in little green men from outer space but I have never tried to get a Bugs Bunny cartoon banned. Also, you can talk about little green men all you want and I will let you but, allow me to walk away from you. Also by talking about the little green men you run the risk of not being invited to my next cocktail party for fear you'll bore all the guests.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

It's his poor mum I feel for.

Somehow I have my doubts whether, during the throes of labour 2,000 years ago, the prospect of little me, so far down the track and a couple of continents away, was foremost on either of their minds. For her sake, I hope that, unlike Brian, he wasn't a very naughty boy.
