Thank you.

That said it all (factually).

As I said........So Israel agreed to a ceasefire to give Hamas a chance to re-arm ?

mnottertail -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 5:13:54 PM)

What else could they do?  If Israel went to wipe them off the map, we would stand agape in horror as they were.  OI?  Those are the two that gotta find the solution, we can't give it to them, nor can we force one upon them  the Balfour declaration only was good for as long as it was good for.   And as an external impostion, it failed, as it does for all free people, since they are reticent to accept te yoke of another.

Yes, Israel wanted a ceasfire so Hamas can re-arm....... and its all the Democrats fault.

Are you ever going to tire of this moronic bullshit ?

Hillary and Morsi and President Obama have nailed a few of the lies you and others were spouting before the election.

Okay...PoliteSub, I'm going to ask an honest question (because I don't live in your sphere....ultimately the potential that it could rain on you).

Let's lose the acerbic crap and just deal with the facts....

I actually don't know....my news comes from my home port (we all know the US has a bit of a bent on facts).

So tell us...from your perspective....

What's going on over there?

The lies I referred to where that Clinto and Obama were anti Israeli.... Thats been busted

Or that Morsi was keen to destroy Israel...... Thats been busted.

My take on the ceasefire is neither side wanted to lose Western support........ Dont forget Gaza gets lots of international aid in the way of food etc.
I`d suggest Obama and Clinton twisted arms on both sides to help pull a ceasefire together, they certainly put in a lot of effort.

Ask yourself this...... Why would Israel call a ceasefire if they thought that would give Hamas a chance to re-arm, they already had troops all along the border and they could have entered at will. I would imagine part of the reason Tuesdays ceasefire didnt come into effect is that the IDF had still got a few military targets to destroy. It seems to me they have gone after just about everything run by Hamas.

Okay...my information being less than (accurate/pertinent....again, I don't have to live under a potential rain of terror...you are only borders away)......isn't it true (am I wrong?) that Hamas fired first?

Am I not hearing the facts (I am assuming of course that I'm not, being where I am)?

Isn't Israel being bombarded by people who truly desire to see them destroyed?

I`d say there are two sides in a conflict, so new ideas are the onus of both.

Sorry, Polite, but I reject moral equivalency when the position of one side is that all of the other side must die.

Funny that you would choose the phrase, "permanent solution," when talking about the Jews, though...

mnottertail -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 5:38:23 PM)

Talleyrand said:  'Treason is only a matter of dates.'

First how?  Israel didnt bulldoze down their villages to make more settlements?  Israel didn't kill some 9 year old palestinian kid for throwing rocks at them?

There have been great affronts on both sides of this equation.   How do we count tit for tat when we dont really have a handle on why one is the hatfields and one is the maccoys?

One possible answer to that is the Obama is anti-Israel, and privately made it clear that we wouldn't support them in doing it, or if it escalated.

mnottertail -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 5:50:31 PM)

And why should we?   And that claptrap that it makes him anti a fucking thing is plainly a Gott Mit Uns thing, like if you are not for the war in Iraq, or Afghanistan,  you are against America, or worse; against our troops.  I believe.........you are anti-American, based on what was floating about those days, don't try to stick that asswipe on another soul, you anti-American.

But hasnt both sides said that?

mnottertail -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 5:58:13 PM)

I rather thought that was a rightwing milieu, and that you could speak expertly and authoritatively upon such a subject, as you do so many you have demonstrated erudite untoutoredness in.

TheHeretic -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 6:11:52 PM)

Which, Tazzy? That the other side must die for there to be peace, or used the unfortunate phrase Polite picked?

tazzygirl -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 6:18:43 PM)

That the other must die.

Now we know how good you are tracking down the linkies, Tazzy. That you haven't offered one here suggests even you aren't much impressed with the results of your Google-Fu. Some whack job rabbi perhaps, or would the context of the bit you needed, blow your assertion of equivalency right out of the water?

tweakabelle -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 6:49:00 PM)

This ceasefire is wonderful news. It's amazing what can happen when people actually talk to each other isn't it? Well done all involved

Israel needs to make a choice. It either faces reality and talks to Hamas, or condemns the entire region to living on the brink of war permanently. Talking produces far more acceptable results than both sides lobbing rockets and missiles at each other - and talking has never caused a single civilian casualty

My Google-Fu is quite intact....

While Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) official Nabil Sheath expressed hope Sunday night that negotiations would continue, very different noises were coming out of Israel.

Interior Minister Eli Yishai said Operation Pillar of Defense would continue and likely be expanded, a reference to the possibility that a ground offensive has already been given the go-ahead.

The war in Gaza “must be so painful and difficult that the terror groups will not think twice but a hundred times before they fire missiles against Israel again,” it was reported in The Israel National News.

“Destroy and damage infrastructure, public buildings and government buildings. We must make sure that Hamas will be spending many years rebuilding Gaza, and not attacking Israel,” he continued.

A few days ago he said, “The goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages, only then will Israel be calm for the next 40 years.”

His words were relatively mild compared to some of the comments that have been coming out of Israel in recent days.

Journalist, Gilad Sharon, the son of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, in an editorial in the Jerusalem Post on Sunday called for Gaza to be flattened like the US flattened the Japanese city of Hiroshima in 1945 with an atomic bomb.

“We need to flatten all of Gaza. The American’s didn’t stop with Hiroshima – the Japanese weren’t surrendering fast enough – so they hit Nagasaki too. There should be no electricity in Gaza, no gasoline or moving
vehicles, nothing. Then they’d really call for a ceasefire,” ranted Sharon.

Israel Katz, the country’s transport minister, has called “for Gaza to be bombed so hard the population has to flee into Egypt.” While Avi Dichter, the minster of home front defense, has urged the IDF to “reformat” Gaza – to wipe it clean with bombs.

Even religious leaders joined the fray, with a prominent Israeli rabbi, Yaakov Yosef, the son of former chief rabbi, Ovadia Yosef, in a sermon at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron blessed IDF soldiers while urging them “to learn from the Syrians how to slaughter the enemy.”

Regular Israeli citizens have also taken to the streets to almost gleefully express their racist hatred of the inhabitants of Gaza and other Arab states.

A group of Israelis demonstrating in Tel Aviv on Thursday night shouted “They don’t deserve to live, they need to die”, “May your children die” and “Now we want to go back there [Gaza] and kick out all the Arabs”.

http://rt.com/news/israel-gaza-hamas-war-103/

After writing that the civilians of Gaza "are not innocent" since they elected Hamas, Sharon declares:

We need to flatten entire neighborhoods in Gaza. Flatten all of Gaza. The Americans didn’t stop with Hiroshima – the Japanese weren’t surrendering fast enough, so they hit Nagasaki, too.

Nice try. Fail.

tazzygirl -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 7:17:16 PM)

Only in your eyes, Rich. No fail there.

Now, answer the original question. If you want to support Israel in all this, thats fine. But own up to their own dirty deeds.

Bullshit. You have comments in the heat of the moment, against decades of widespread and official policy. Fail.

Perhaps I haven't been clear enough on where I have come to stand on the issue. Let me express it again. Israel can nuke Gaza until the inhabitants glow, and then shoot them in the dark, and I won't let it spoil my dinner. I don't give a shit what the Israeli's do.

tazzygirl -> RE: Go Hillary and Morsi! (11/21/2012 7:32:06 PM)

I have comments in the heat of the moment? How many moments have been heated? How many of these heated moments have we not heard?

Come on, even you cant be full of this much bullshit, Rich.
