Am I the only one who thinks that, maybe, the GOP will actually try to find someone more moderate and... sane... this time around as a result of the potential of her running?

I would hope instead of some milk toast moderate we will nominate a conservative who can actually articulate a conservative platform. We just lost 2 times in a row with a moderate. A moderate isn't going to beat Hillery.

I think a moderate could win.
4 years ago, the R side was tossing in the towel before the election started because they figured after 8 years of Dubya, they couldn't win anything and they assumed Hillary would be the D nominee. Along comes the dark horse candidate and they tried to scramble with McCain and damn near won.
This time, they had 3 bible Beaters, a crazy old man, a serial adulteror and a clueless rich guy who flip flops more than a bass in the bottom of the boat. It's like they were fucking TRYING to lose again.

Well not for Comedians...There is a whisper J. Brewer is thinking about running...(look at the schedule she has..all fundraisers and with the big bois)

The Dems could not be that lucky that the gop would put her on the ticket

I just don't think a moderate can win. Reagan articulated conservatism quite well. We also ended up with the religious right and that fact seems to be biting republicans in the ass. By any conservative definition McCain and Romney were moderates no matter what the media or liberals on this board say. The best hope for the republicans is to go for broke with an articulate fiscal conservative assuming this whole republic and the rest of the world doesn't fall apart before the time comes. Republicans have a problem when it comes to walking that fine line with the religious right, they won't likely win without their votes.

They were trying to win, Hill; they just tried to 'win' their way, which the electorate repudiated. These people are too obsessed with power and controlling our lives to walk away from any election. We need to keep that in mind, and forget this nonsense about them 'trying to lose'.

I said... sane... moderate.

So are you sayin McCain and Romney where insane ? I'm not following.

tazzygirl -> RE: Presidential bids... 2016. (12/5/2012 4:51:44 PM)

lol

Romney/Ryan... far from sane.

McCain/Palin.... far from sane.

So what do they do, run around naked shooting assault rifles at liberals ? Me thinks you exaggerate.

tazzygirl -> RE: Presidential bids... 2016. (12/5/2012 5:06:01 PM)

rofl... the tickets were far from sane. Palin was a fruit basket they didnt expect to spoil until after the election. Ryan was a handicap they had hoped to turn into an asset.. and it bit them in the ass.

McCain... an old man whose time had passed. Romney... so out of touch with the reality of the rest of the country, it was a joke.

Hardly what anyone would term... sane... moderate... tickets.

You make it difficult. It's hard to defend fruit baskets without a an assault rifle. I would have to guess you disagree with their points of view. But insane and fruit basket I don't get.

tazzygirl -> RE: Presidential bids... 2016. (12/5/2012 5:12:34 PM)

The majority disagreed with their pov's.

Tazzy, how would someone moderate and sane get past the Republican primary?....

This.
Is there,for the GOP,any other issue ?
As long as the fringe demands that their candidate move further and further right.....they are screwed in the general.

The major issue with her running is that she's consistently denied she'll run.

That is not an issue at all,all she needs to do is claim that she is changing her mind for love of country.
For a politician that is the most natural of flip flops.[:)]

Thinking like that will produce another wet dream(for the Democrats) Republican candidate.

tazzygirl -> RE: Presidential bids... 2016. (12/5/2012 10:10:35 PM)

At the moment, we are too busy wiping up the GOP one.

lovmuffin -> RE: Presidential bids... 2016. (12/5/2012 10:58:04 PM)

Now that's really funny. By what messure ? I wonder how that's working out for all those people who are still out of work.

tazzygirl -> RE: Presidential bids... 2016. (12/5/2012 11:00:59 PM)

Working far better for those who were out of work but have returned to the job market.... back to the Bush numbers after falling into the pits from his administrations policies.
