My experience has been that many people on these sites that say they are "professional" photographers, they mean they have taken pictures on their iphone and then just did some photoshopping and others asked them to do that for their photo.

I would almost buy this...but then why not photoshop out the dirty laundry on the door, the FiLTHY counter & over flowing trash can?

tazzygirl -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/14/2012 2:14:49 PM)

Truth in advertising?

UniqueJust -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 11:02:40 AM)

I'm not ranting, I'm just curious. How the FU(K did this become popular. I just don't understand how someone gets off giving away money? (rhetorical)

"Into Financial Domination", what the ****. That's like prostitution, pay me to be in my presence.

I'm not desperate for ass, I just don't know a whole lot about BDSM. Honestly I lack real world exp truth. There are some locals into the scene, I tried and still do to meet someone or anyone who could point me in the right direction. So I do message women on this site (tops and bottoms) for a general consensus.

Has nobody been ripped off before, why would I send you a gift off amazon (normally something petty like a bra or handcuffs etc). I buy something, you still don't talk. I'm not buying shit until I know you.

Nobody ever says buy me a BOOK.

Again I'm not ranting I just don't understand. And it seems to have become the norm. I'm not sure where to go to seek real world exp. I've looked for some groups, I even met a woman off here, drove like 70 miles for an awkward "social interaction" at a movie theater.

I feel as if BDSM has become lost. The information is great, but it means nothing with no application. Seeing a pro gets expensive, but thats DIFFERENT. A 30 year old with a duckface in the mirror(really? smh).

I see why CM has turned into an old AOL chatroom. Hm. Maybe it's time to give it up and just stay vanilla.

Inghammar -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 11:07:35 AM)

As a somewhat new person here I was wondering if this surge in fin dommes was a) seasonal b) somehow related to the economy

AthenaSurrenders -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 11:24:28 AM)

Unique - you live in Chicago. In a city that size, there will be a LOT of real-world stuff going on. Google 'Chicago munch' and look up 'TNG' groups (the next generation, for under 35s) and go and meet some people.

You may not be desperate for ass, but some people are, so it is worth the gamble of sending an amazon gift card. Others might get what they need from that exchange. Some people enjoy the thrill of spoiling a dominant woman. Some people are naive and get taken in. Some people are unable to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with a domme and so have no choice but to pay if they want to play. Surely it's not that hard to understand why it happens? And due to the quantity of findommes here I suspect some of the low-effort 'duckface' profiles get less takers than they might want you to believe.

If it isn't for you, ignore it. Don't get bitter over what other people are up to. The more guys satisfied with online findomme, the less competition you have for those real life dominants you are going to go out and meet, right?

Actually there was someone here just the other day whose amazon wishlist was just university text books. What I'd really be interested to see is people buying goats for impoverished families in Uganda in order to prove their seriousness to a domme.

Athena - Thanks!

This is the best I've seen in a long time. So honestly from the heart thank you.

I never understand folks who live in major cities and make posts that talk about how they can't find munch groups, people, etc. Even if you were so far out of the loop that you didn't know how to go about that in your location, what kind of pros are you seeing that they wouldn't know that information? That's just pathetic and sad.

Please save the "BDSM has gotten lost" bit. For the entire time you have been a legal adult, all a person has needed to do was have internet access to find their way to gaining real life experience. You have absolutely no clue even what it was like ten years ago when only major events and/or groups would have a webpage or twenty years ago when it was all answering ads or making phone contacts. If you're bemoaning that you can't find people now, you'd have never found connections back then.

I'm not exactly here to find clients hahaha
So I'm not too worried about it. I don't take professional pictures every time I want a snap shot of muhself!

No I know you're not here looking for photography clients, but it doesn't mean that someone who was considering you won't come across you here. Maybe I'm just a perfectionist, but if I were a pro photographer I'd want all my public photos to show that professionalism. I guess for me it would be worth making the effort for a profile photo, at least once. I'm sure you must have some good quality self portraits from when you've been practicing with lighting and exposure?

Anyway, sorry, not a criticism, just happens that you're about the fourth person I've seen this month who says they are a professional but only has mirror shots. It really surprises me.

Then there is another mindset, like my own. I AM a professional photographer but don't care nearly as much about, photos showing myself, as I do photos of others. My business and Collarme are two separate entities. If I am trolling for business, people will have my website address to see my work.

The only reason I have photos here, is not to promote my business (because yanno, I do like to keep the two separate...) but to give anyone that gives a shit an idea of how I look. Not in some fancy smancy glamour shot that's been photoshopped to death, but me, every day. The way I really look, not some dreamy, wish I looked like. If someone doesn't like the real me, as I am, then fuck em. They want to see samples of my profession, they go to my website, not my profile on some obscure kink site.

The one time I told someone who was traveling and wanted to bring me back a keepsake that he could bring me a book he answered, "Are you sure you wouldn't prefer panties?" [sm=ofcourse.gif]

Can I just say that's actually an amazing idea? Buying animals like that is really REALLY good for countries like that.

I have a shit ton of books on my Wishlist. Maybe not textbooks, but a lot of books about mental health and eugenics.

LaTigresse -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 2:59:25 PM)

In my personal opinion.....it is hardly possible to have too many books. Then again I am prejudiced.

coldslayer -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 3:03:17 PM)

i dont think subs get off to the idea of a dom buying books to read...

LaTigresse -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 3:31:28 PM)

Silly me, I must not be a weal and twue dominant woman.........I just don't care if the sub 'get's off' on my love of books! [:D]

coldslayer -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 3:32:15 PM)

its not about caring. its only logical that they will buy you things that will feed their fantasy.

LaTigresse -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 3:38:27 PM)

I know, I was just being sassy. Lighthearted joking and so forthish.

There is a very VERY good reason I am not a findom.......I won't cater to putzes.

coldslayer -> RE: What's the big deal about FinDoms? (12/15/2012 3:45:40 PM)

ah. and lol. catering to them. its kinda like teasing them out of their money
