not exactly the minority is protected from the tyranny of the majority.

As for the polls I worry its just a knee jerk reaction. Last thing we need is another Patriot act or more things like the TSA or more homeland security.

Do you want I should post the other 263 Million odd threads? Think about it. Most gang bangers are in school when they start their career. Do they bring weapons to class? damn right they do. Ive seen them. Do they shoot and stab people INSIDE the buildings, not just on the property. yup.
Gangbangers don't give a crap what building they're in. They've even shot up hospitals.
It doesn't make the nationwide news because it's just a buncha gangbangers.

Columbine would have counted. Wasnt Cho a student at VT who physically went into the school and killed multiple people?

Cho, a senior English major at Virginia Tech, had previously been diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorder.

Five years ago today, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold murdered their classmates and teachers at Columbine High School.

Those both occurred inside the school, during school hours, killing many people. All your examples happened outside of school (my original requirement was and still is inside the school), or on the way home from school or at night.

No one is saying killings dont happen in schools. No one said they werent criminals. I am saying it isnt gang bangers who are doing these mass killings in school.

Now, you state they are.

So offer the links.

I showed one breaking into a classroom and several comitting their murderous crimes ON SCHOOL GROUNDS this mean at school. Deal with it. You screwed up and moved the goalposts to try to make up for it.

I showed gang killings on school grounds and even showed criminals killing in the classroom.

You then moved the goal poasts to "in a classroom"
I showed "criminals" killing IN A CLASSROOM

Face it. If they have weapons on school property, and KILL people, they're criminals.

You screwed up with your initial statement. Then, you moved the goalposts twice and denied it. Deal with it.

Status: offline 		So don't ban guns. Just make it more difficult for the possession of guns. Extend the waiting period so that a thorough, complete background can be done. Make gun safety education and the passing of a written test mandatory. License all firearms. Have uniform rules across the country in proper storage (gun safes). Make those wanting a gun take a psychological exam.

Of course none of this keep all those who shouldn't have a gun from getting their hands on a gun, but it would keep some from getting one. And just because something isn't 100% effective doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. We have reasonable, responsible restrictions on all of our rights. My right to the freedom of speech, for instance stops at my job. I'm not allowed to talk about the medical history of my clients. To do so is a felony. And the right bear arms should be subject to similar reasonable, responsible restrictions.

Status: offline 		Some will say that since any legislation wouldn't be 100% affective, we'd be better off not doing anything at all.

Giving teachers and janitors and school administrators guns certainly isn't the answer. A few years ago, a local teacher was suspended for slapping a student. When my son reminded me of that, I shuddered to think what could have happened if the teacher had had a gun.
