You have not once addressed gun owner responsibilities. You have skirted the whole issue by saying how that wont stop all killings.

Address it for once.

tazzygirl -> RE: All things gun control go here (1/2/2013 1:00:48 PM)

You are right, you shouldnt have. Now that we are past that point. Try answering the questions.

What ARE your responsibilities as a gun owner?

What ways are there to ENSURE everyone is taking precautions that a responsible gun owner should take?

That should have you spinning for a few hours.

yes I do the fact that you want to be;ieve I want to leave my guns on the front poarch doesn't make it true
the fact that you want to believe I don't care who has guns doesn't make it true
none of the things that you in your infinate wisdom want to belive is automatically true

yes because if I don't bow down to your greatness I must be stupid
let me ask you once you give the gov power to inspect for "responsible " keeping/storage" of your gun how do you keep them from streching that power to harrase gun owners
were do you want me to keep any semi auto I own since there isn't a gun club within a hundred miles of were I live

You still havent answered the question posed directly to you numerous of times.

Why are you avoiding them? The answers too uncomfortable for your position?

according to FBI and british homeland stats there is 3.5 times as much violent crime in England and Walse as the is in the U S so it would appear they are

Violent crime? If it's reported, that can be some kid getting his lunch money stolen by the local bully. The topic is "All things gun control....". And fair dinkum, where do you get the stats you claim as gospel?

Apologies if it's been done before but here's a quick search of wikipedia on firearms deaths. Death rates are per 100,000 of population and you'll find the US stats near the top and surrounded primarily by African and other 3rd world nations.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate

And since we're primarily westerners, some countries of note (as best as CM's formatting will allow):

Country - deaths per 100,000 - homicide - Year of stats

USA - 10.2 - 3.7 - 2009
France - 3.0 - 0.22 - 2009
New Zealand - 2.66 - 0.17 - 2010
Canada - 2.13 - 0.5 - 2011
Germany - 1.10 - 0.06 - 2010
Australia - 1.05 - 0.09 - 2008
UK - 0.25 - 0.04 - 2011

Note our land of convicts and that 1 in 10 deaths are homicides whereas in the US, it's nearly 4 in 10. Overall, you're 10 times more likely to die from firearms in the US than Oz. And then there's those "violent" Brits....

Though I've managed to lose the link, I did a search of our federal government's "Australian Bureau of Statistics" on firearms related deaths and can tell you (from memory) that in 2010, there were 231 gun deaths. Given our population is about 23 million, that's 10 per million and correlates with the above Wikipedia stats of 1 in 100,000.

Of those 231 deaths, 162 were suicides - which also means another 162 guns were taken off the streets. The remaining 69 were fairly evenly distributed (most to least) amongst accidents, "other" (whatever that means) and crime/law enforcement.

Now, starting with the US gun humper's favourite theme that "gun control doesn't work", there's all manner of scope for you to deconstruct with semantics. Enjoy...!

Focus.

tazzygirl -> RE: All things gun control go here (1/2/2013 2:56:17 PM)

I suppose its easier to play passive agressive than to actually answer. But, thats ok, thats an answer in itself which undermines your position.

Why are you avoiding them? The answers too uncomfortable for your position?

please remember that I had adressed the issue of gun safes
please note that I have told you what is wrong with keeping semi autos at a gun club (none within a hundred miles of me for example.
those were the only responsibilities you had stated
I asked you what other responsibilities you wanted enforced on gun owners and you not only refused to answer but began pretending that I wouldn't answer the questions you asked to avoid my question
In 54 years of shooting I have never had or been close to havenbg a gun accident neither has anyone I taught

tazzygirl -> RE: All things gun control go here (1/2/2013 3:03:21 PM)

And I asked YOU what responsibilities a gun owner has.

And YOU still cannot answer.

Which plainly states YOU dont know.

What ARE your responsibilities as a gun owner?

What ways are there to ENSURE everyone is taking precautions that a responsible gun owner should take?

2 very simple questions YOU have yet to answer.

answer my question which came first either we both play by the same rules or we don't play
and declaring me not to know what a responsible gun owner is is both agressive and insulting

tazzygirl -> RE: All things gun control go here (1/2/2013 3:05:27 PM)

lol... your question came first?

I have been asking since the shooting.... and NO ONE seems to even want to try and answer.

It all comes down to gun owners, such as yourself, dont want to be inconvenienced even in the face of overwhelming evidence that gun owners arent responsible gun owners.
