ORIGINAL: Kirata I've squirted a knows-he's-in-trouble cat with a water pistol, but nothing faster than that. Dang, that is fast. The most fun I've ever had shooting, was actually a pea shooter, specifically an old CZ BRNO. What made it so fun was, I shot it with my old man as a child, one of the few interests we shared outside of science and technology. We would go up to the family cabin in the woods, one of us picking the pine cone to target with the binoculars, the other shooting it off the tree. I had already learned about the influence of heartbeat and the like from photography with him, and when shooting, he taught me how to compensate for the bullet drop, the crosswinds, the height difference to the target, and so forth. While we didn't hunt together, he also explained how to lead the target. And he impressed on me the importance of responsible and safe handling and storage of the gun. We didn't speak much while shooting, but I remember feeling very much closer than usual, and it's some of the best meditation I've had; rarely ever felt that peaceful with anything else. I think that's the heart of the gun experience, for me. Not something I need, but something I wouldn't want to have been without. IWYW, — Aswad.
