Since all the gun control crap has been banned we are free to talk about having fun with guns again here! So, whats the biggest, fastest, wildest thing you have shot?

Probably for me was shooting a buddies legal class iii wwii german belt fed mg34 machinegun from the hip. 1,200 rounds a minute is just SO much fun!
He also had a legal sten submachinegun with a legal silencer. My girlfriend loved shooting it because it was so quiet.

Wildest part was this was in Reno Nevada right off hwy80..and i mean RIGHT off, cars driving by while we were shooting, nobody cares there, its why they call it free America.

So, what fun stuff have you shot?

Probably tame for this thread but the biggest gun I've shot is my 357 magnum revolver. I'm small; it's big!

Take your pick of small arms: M-9, M-14, M-16, M-24, M-4, AK-47, AK-74, M-2, M-249, M-60, and many more.

Take your pick of rocket and grenade launchers: M-203, M-72, AT-4, RPG-4, RPG-7, M-47, M-3 Gustaf, and many more.

The fun part about being EOD was that we were called to do "disposal" on EVERYTHING. That often meant show up, tell everyone to leave so that we can work safely, and get some trigger time.

The two I've always wanted to fire but never got a chance to are the WWII era Panzerfaust and the Korean War era M-20 "Super Bazooka."

I once dropped a running pronghorn buck at about 100 yards off hand with a Sako .243. Pure lung/heart shot. Seeing as an antelope can hit up to 65 MPH or better, that's the fastest thing Ive ever shot.

I've squirted a knows-he's-in-trouble cat with a water pistol, but nothing faster than that.

Dang, that is fast.

The most fun I've ever had shooting, was actually a pea shooter, specifically an old CZ BRNO.

What made it so fun was, I shot it with my old man as a child, one of the few interests we shared outside of science and technology. We would go up to the family cabin in the woods, one of us picking the pine cone to target with the binoculars, the other shooting it off the tree. I had already learned about the influence of heartbeat and the like from photography with him, and when shooting, he taught me how to compensate for the bullet drop, the crosswinds, the height difference to the target, and so forth. While we didn't hunt together, he also explained how to lead the target. And he impressed on me the importance of responsible and safe handling and storage of the gun. We didn't speak much while shooting, but I remember feeling very much closer than usual, and it's some of the best meditation I've had; rarely ever felt that peaceful with anything else.

I think that's the heart of the gun experience, for me.

Not something I need, but something I wouldn't want to have been without.

IWYW,
— Aswad.

LOL! I'm impressed that you can get to the water pistol that quickly. By the time I reach my squirt bottle, the cat has moved on to something else.

Nothing for me but my uncle was a trick shot that would rival Anne Oakley. He used to tape kitchen matches to 4 candles. At about a 100 feet he would nick the match heads lighting each candle then shoot the flames out without hitting the candle... I was in awe of him.

Something similar. At 100 yards, when I was in practice, I could shoot the bottom out of a bottle.
Bullet goes in the neck without touching anything and blows the bottom out.

It's a tough shot best performed with a .22/250

Just to show you how good I am... I am a lefty...shot left handed all my young life. When I joined the Corps they made me qualify right handed. It was good that I did because I lost many bad habits and qualified expert.

On leave from ITR I went target practicing with a group of friends from home. I took my old trusty bolt action 30-06 and with everyone watching the bragging Marine expert qualifier I proceeded grip my rifle as a right handed shooter and tried to put the stock in my left shoulder...This resulted with a painful collision between stock and my chin...lol...I'll never live it down I'm afraid.

The trick is to mislabel the squirt bottle. Mine says 'MILK'... cat falls for it every time.
