Who did you piss off? lol... kidding.

I dont know what to tell you Hill. Do they make the right calls all the time? Im sure they dont.

Did you ask why they were both pulled?

If not, now would be a perfect time to ask and get a question answered, no?

If, yes, what was the response as to why?

I sent an email to alpha on 9-9 and as of a few days ago it hasn't been opened yet.

As of 5:47 EST it hasn't been opened.

He was sent a cease and desist letter.

By the time you get to the third or maybe fourth day, you'll get a gold letter to "cease and desist" your activity.

The cease and desist letter basically said "quit pointing out rulebreakers. We don't want to hear about it"

Or could it have said... quit abusing out staff? Im sure someone could report a 1000 photos in a day....

For instance, Chi made it clear Nietzsche's ideas on noble/ignoble moralities are only welcome in the Gorean section, which is one of the biggest "wtf?! are you dumb?"-moments in recent moderation history for me. If you're sorting which ideas go where, it's probably a good idea to have some grasp of either the concept or the categories.

You misunderstood me. I was not referring to a general discussion on Nietzsche's views but making personal attacks on posters who favor gun control and identify as slaves. Posts that mentioned Nietzsche were pulled because they quoted a post that required removal; they were fine on their own.

In these instances, could not the "quoted" section be 'doctored' to clean, and demonstrate a process has been followed, leaving the commentors comments as they stand?

This will serve as an attempt to keep discussion flowing (to a degree) and also demonstrate open and accountable moderation.
Maybe?

He didnt make the rules tho. Just pointing out violations.
Should someone who continually points out the drug dealers on the corner be arrested? (It's an analogy OK)

If they are drug dealers, then you would be right.

If they are church ladies, then its abusive to the system.

And yet free use isnt necessarily commercial.

Commercial art is the art of creative services, referring to art created for commercial purposes, primarily advertising. The term has become increasingly anachronistic in favor of more contemporary terms such as graphic design and advertising art.

And even it those photos manage to get past point #2, they blatantly failed point #1 - they were NOT taken by themselves; they were copied from elsewhere and not their own work.

The mods on the other side should have the ability to look at new profiles as they come in and stop the abuse of the ToS as it happens. Not shoot the messenger when they report ToS violations.

The Admins here are volunteer and often work different sections. Any idea how many photos are uploaded to this system a day?

Probably close to a thousand I'd say, based on the number of new profiles I see every day.
And I agree, they are volunteers.
They volunteered to do the job but are failing miserably at it.
So 'shoot the messenger' is the easy option rather than fix the problem.
Typical!
If anyone had that attitude or worked in that manner they would be dismissed almost instantly for dereliction of duty or just plain incompetence.
Just because you are a volunteer shouldn't excuse you from that responsibility.

ORIGINAL: tazzygirl
You claimed to have reported hundreds of photos a day. How long did those reports take you? How many did you verify as being truly commercial art work?

Those 'photos' are blatant infringement of the first point.
It wouldn't even reach point #2 to be considered.

How long did it take me?? Less than a hour!!

quote:

ORIGINAL: tazzygirl
How many were free use? How many days did you do this? Since each report is manually reviewed, verified, then decided upon, thats a long, long time. Couple that with just a few posters doing the same... and can you imagine the work load for one or two reviewers? Who are volunteers? How long would you do it?

It doesn't matter about 'free use' - it's still a violation on the first 2 points on the upload page.
How long does it take to look at a picture and decide that it wasn't taken by the uploader??
Instantly... Maybe half a second... Lets be generous, I'll give it a whole second.

How long would I do it??
If I were allowed, all day every day.
I'm a stickler for rules - as is evident on several other (non-BDSM) forums I am a member of.

Edit to say: I just followed the rules and used the tools they gave me.
I didn't go browsing through profiles either - only what randomly showed up on the Browse Photos page.

And for HW: thanks - I think you got the gist!
I'm not sure if tazzy is just being obtuse or playing DA.

I didnt take some of the photos on my profile... but those are my cats. Does that mean I cannot post them?

If the subject is me, and I pay for them, does that mean I cannot post them since I didnt "take them"?

The three things explicitly stated on the upload page are -

#1 Please only post pictures you took yourself .........................................

#1 is pretty easy to discern isnt it?

Well, then, damn, better report me and have my account taken a way.

We have some very beautiful women on this site. Yet many will insist they are fakes and the photos are not them. Having viewed a number on web cam... lol... thats patently not true.

We have come very talented photographers on site. Some are rather extrodinary. Many post here, fet and deviantart, where you can find many of their art work on display. Did you bother to find out of those were the photos of such people?

We have some who have written releases to post certain art from the one who did take/produce it. Now, what do we do with those?

How many photos did you report in a day?

How many did you verify?

How do you know you didnt report a majority that were allowed simply because of the things I mentioned above?

How many photos did you report in a day?

Probably around 60-80 at a rough guess.
And that's because after a short while the random pics start repeating.

quote:

ORIGINAL: tazzygirl
How many did you verify?

A cartoon pic doesn't take much verification. lol.

quote:

ORIGINAL: tazzygirl

I am not talking about 'photos' that could be questionable - I didn't report any of those at all.
I only reported cartoons, postcards and similar that were absolutely OTT and blatantly violating ToS.
I even ignored those that were obviously celebs and not the uploader.

So I followed the rules and got slammed, twice.
I don't mind a warning, but to find your profile deleted 30 mins after the GL I think is waay OTT.
If it just said, 'please do not report so many photos at once' - that I can understand.
