I'm not brow beating, im saying stop acting like you're not intelligent when you are.
You're not going to think the way I am and that's ok. What I'd love to see is for you to stop deliberately misinterpreting what I say.

Im not the only one who is seeing it.

I've noted this behavior on more than one occasion - being deliberately obtuse, attempting to deflect, or nitpicking over nonsense, as opposed to actually replying to questions or truly wanting to converse.

Yeah, we're not the only one, it's been done to several people on this thread alone. And a former or perhaps current mod?

That tells me a *lot* - and none of it's good.

Sure, the sight owners get to run the place however they wish. But it's clear from this thread that many are not happy with the moderation, and don't think it promotes a free exchange of ideas.

That someone made you a mod doesn't make you always right.

Anyone can read the content of the thread and determine that someone prepared to expend ludicrous amounts of energy on defending the proposition that moderation is fair, consistent (and yet amenable to having policy made up on the spot) is invested in the discussion to a level which defies reason. That doesn't require longevity, merely the ability to observe and think.

I have to thank Chatte for bringing this post to my attention.

So, because I dont snap to your demands and give you what you want, I am being obtuse and "deliberately misinterpreting" what you say?

Interesting... though far from the truth

And now I am supposed to be worried about what other people think of me? Why? Why should I be concerned?

I speak my mind, whatever may be on it, whenever I decide to speak it. I have no intentions of changing simply because it doesnt suit you or your friends. Hell, even if it doesnt suit mine, its not going to change.

What you are attempting to do is c ast me into a negative light, an attempt at forcing me to bow to peer pressure... to behave in a manner you deem more acceptable for others.

Why should I even bother?

Wow... nope Awareness.. I am defending myself and my own position. You are assuming, based upon what I have written that I have had some hand in the moderation aspects of this forum. I have not. I have moderated at other sites over the years. I understand the work that goes into one. If that makes your assumption correct in your mind, go for it.

But, Im not lying. I have no reason too.

Taz, I have gotten emails on the other side in the last few hours from other members that aren't involved in this asking the same questions.

I have had several people in that time frame ask if I thought you were a mod because 'you certainly sounded like one' or who have been shaking their heads at your apparently "being deliberately obtuse".

Maybe you don't see it but many others do.
It's not just me.
Im sure you know the old story about if one person calls you a jackass, you can consider the source but if six call you one you should look for a properly fitting saddle.

Hill, I am supposed to worry about that? Honestly? Really? I find that laughable.

Let me ask you... what would it change? If I had said yes.... which I am not saying yes, because I wont lie and admit to something that isnt true... what would have happened? We already know some have come out and admitted they were. No, probably not here. But somewhere else. And I am really surprised that you would consider me that weak willed that I would not own up to something like that, even in private.

I would never hold a moderator position here. I have many I like. I have many I dislike, intensely. I could never be impartial enough. But that doesnt negate my past experiences, does it? Does it mean that because so many are wondering, I am now supposed to keep silent about my history and my experience in dealing with issues on a message board? So, now that so many are wondering, I am expected to just tuck tail and run? Surely, by now, you know me better than that.

I didn't say you were a mod. What I said is that you are defending their decisions above and beyond the call of duty. Currying favor? meh, who knows or gives a fuck.

I and several others are also saying that you are either being deliberately obtuse which is cute in a 4-year-old but not so much in an adult or you aren't as intelligent as we thought you were.

Either you are deliberately misinterpreting my post once again or you are nowhere near as intelligent as I believed you to be.

I'll spell it out.

me, taz or another means me, you or another

me, taz, or another would have meant I was talking to you.

I was talking to chatte.

Gesh.... playing dumb.. when that post comes on the heels of me being accused of being a moderator? lol... ok

Im currying no one's favor. I can honestly say Lucy is probably the only poster I have not had a disagreement with on these boards. And with a post count of 32000, thats a lot of people.

Then consider me not as intelligent and move on... or a 4 year old with passable typing skills.

The problem, as I see it, is that I did not bow down to your demands to answer questions the way you desired them to be answered. At what time would you assume I would? I have rarely done so, and felt no need or desire to give you a " yes or no" answer this time. You stomping and demanding the response you want to hear isnt going to get you the response you desire.

And this is another prime example of you trying to get me to bow to your wishes. Why do I care what you and your friends discuss in private? Is this high school again? I dont always agree with my own friends, why should I care about what yours feel or think?

Honestly, this is all school yard bullshit and I am surprised you are bringing it up. If you and your friends wish to gossip about me in your mail, feel free. If you are talking about me, you are leaving someone else alone.

No the problem is that you didn't answer questions period and played dumb when it suited you in an attempt to deflect logic showing you were on the wrong side of the argument.
Like I said. It's cute when a 4 year old does it. With an adult, not so much.
Once again, I ddn't say you were a mod. Take that drap up with those who ask you about that. Learn to tell the difference between what I post and others do.

As for your misinterpretation of who I was talking to, werent you just giving naughtynick 'lessons' in how to tell who was talking to who in P&R a few hours ago?

You make the same mistake here you castigate others for there.
Is that considered hypocritical when you deliberately pull the same crap here that you call someone on in another thread?

I have answered lots of question. I made a decision not to answer yours in the limited capacity you wanted me too. Thats the plain and smiple truth. And you are still acting butt hurt over it.

Yep... and it was that post you quoted that I saw first and went to find yours. So, yes, it looked very familiar and I thought, at first, I replied to hers by mistake. I do make those on rare occasions.

Actually, before you take that as serious and make a huge assumption about that, I make many mistakes. But at least I do try and I own up to mistakes when I make them.
