WomanlyWiles -> RE: How to filter the fakes? (12/31/2012 10:49:04 AM)

People put up flattering pics of themselves, portray themselves in the best light, use old pics and so on. That's the internet for you, get used to it. People get their hair done, make up on, good clothes on before a date. Dating is all about first impressions. I went on a date with a sub, during which he tried to provoke me, hoping I would slap him. I told him I wasn't into that sort of thing and left. Before I even got home there was an angry message from him saying I wasn't really a domme. We sure as fuck weren't compatible, but that doesn't make me a fake. I blame myself for that one, as I let several red flags go by, thinking it was just a communication issue (his English was very good but it wasn't his native language). And seriously, someone didn't take your calls so that makes them a fake? I don't answer the phone to over excited, persistent, needy people either. I stop contact and hope they get bored. Some people can't take no for an answer.
