So, we are back to my original point... men are their own solutions. Any DV victim should leave... in any way they can. For a woman, its a much harder task sometimes. For many men, its simply getting up and walking out the door.

Any DV victim *should* leave, but plenty don't, and not just because of the more obvious physical or material reasons (they might get beaten up further, or will have no money). They'll stay because they've become so demoralised. They 'deserve the punishment' because they're 'so bad' and 'so useless'. I think that's the real pits, for me, if I see signs of that on a someone's partner's face.

That kind of abuse, and that kind of result, would cut very easily across gender lines, I'd imagine. Whether the man in the video acted that part well, though, is difficult to for me to say.

Which is why I didnt say all. The common denominators are the abuse, in all forms. The cure.. awareness of not only society, but the victims as well. The only way to bring about the cure is reporting.
I pointed out the differences because repeatedly Nick and Chester keep bringing up that the abuse is exactly the same... its not. There are differences. If a woman wants to leave, she will have a far harder time than a man with the same desire to leave.

I never said it was the same, I've agreed that men can do more physical damage. I just don't think that men should always be assumed to be the abusers and that male victims should have more support. I definitely agree with the part in bold. Society needs to be aware that this is a two-way problem, and male victims need to be taken more seriously when they do report it. It's thanks to people assuming that domestic violence is only a male on female problem, and thanks to sexist attitudes such as the ones of the cop in the video that they don't.

then make people more aware of it..do something about it..its easy these days... awareness groups pop up all over the internet every day... social media, etc...

Become an advocate.

As Ghandi said...

“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. … We need not wait to see what others do.”

Here we go, now the "it's your fault do something about it" tactic is aimed at chester.

How dare men mention male issues on collarme forums! It's forbidden I tell ya!

But it's all okay for women to discuss female issues on a forum because they will never be invalidated to mention it on a forum and get demanded to do something about it.

The "what are forums for" logic only applies to women.

tazzygirl -> RE: Male victimization in modern society. (1/10/2013 1:19:21 PM)

You know, you might actually get a better reception if you join a debate.. as he has.. instead of your constant whining.

Lucylastic -> RE: Male victimization in modern society. (1/10/2013 1:19:47 PM)

Nick..you were offered support, and help, you said it wasnt your job, you are powerless. DO something about it and see.
no one said its your failt, or chesters fault, however if you deny the chance to put your money where your mouth is, or stop the self pity... it is your problem, your issue.
NOt mine, not tazzys, not any womans.
I decried a dearth of local munches...what did I do, I didnt whine about it for long, I started my own.... and it was wonderful , the response from people I reached out to and was popular until I became too ill to run it anymore.
So try it, or not
your problem , the pity party stops with you.

naughtynick81 -> RE: Male victimization in modern society. (1/10/2013 1:20:34 PM)

Tazzy, what's the point of debating with an opponent that thinks everything is the man's fault? It's a lost cause.

Tazzy, the women in that video could have just left too. They didn't seem trapped or cornered.

But what a surprise, people will make up any dodgy excuse under the sun for why "it's always the man's fault" "it's always the man's fault" "it's always the man's fault" "it's always the man's fault"... it can never be the bloody fault of women.

Women are perfect princesses who can never be at fault or wrong.

This is why I call you a bigot because in your world nothing is ever the fault of women.

But it's not only you that has this mentality, this is a conditioned social mindset.

AGAIN, I'm curious to know, when it comes to gender issues, when are women ever placed in blame, not necessarily entirely to blame, for the problems? I'm even more curious to know what feminists say compared to others.

Is any fucking thing ever the woman's fault?

And, for myself, I am tired of the attacks. You cant even hold a civil conversation anymore.

Lucylastic -> RE: Male victimization in modern society. (1/10/2013 1:21:40 PM)

where in this thread has anyone everything is the mans fault?

Thats all you see... whose fault it is... no where did I ever once say it was all the man's fault. No where did I ever once say its all the woman's fault.

You are seeing boogey men everywhere.. and you dont have a clue what one truly looks like.

Well let's see, "So, we are back to my original point... men are their own solutions."

It's all there for all of us to see.

But not only that, one only has to look at the rest of your posts in this thread.

You can deny your own making all you want. But I see it how it is.

tazzygirl -> RE: Male victimization in modern society. (1/10/2013 1:33:52 PM)

They are their own solutions. That isnt blaming anyone. Just like women are their own solutions. Looking for someone else to help you when you wont help yourself, for either sex, just aint cutting it.

So why are you debating when you think everything's the woman's fault?

It is certainly there for all of us to see.

But I bet you a million fucking dollars you're not seeing what I see.

naughtynick81 -> RE: Male victimization in modern society. (1/10/2013 1:45:43 PM)

Just imagine how well it would go if I went around blaming female victims. The "victim blaming" saying seems to be a huge trigger warning in the feminist movement. But not so much of a trigger warning when the blame is on men lol.

Gotta larf at the obvious double standard.

There is no point debating with people who are dead set biased.

To reiterate: why is somebody else's misandry more of a double standard than your own misogyny?

Its his fall back position when he has been found caught up in his own fantasies.

Lucylastic -> RE: Male victimization in modern society. (1/10/2013 1:59:40 PM)

he blames all women, but cant take any responsibility.its a very sad outlook

naughtynick81 -> RE: Male victimization in modern society. (1/10/2013 2:07:08 PM)

Moving back to the anti male sexuality bigotry which is a fucking massive problem that many ignore, this is an example of it.

" For all those sickos who ask .. Theres my pussy :)"

I saw this said on another site as a caption of a picture of a woman and her cat.

For starters, I think men have no right whatsoever to go around asking women to show their pussies. On the other hand however, I think it's uncalled for to go around calling men sickos, creeps, and all the other degrading shaming tactics simply because they have an interest in the female body and have their male sexual feelings that are different to how women generally think.

These days it seems to be veering towards that being gay is more acceptable and politically correct than heterosexual male sexuality.
