Status: offline 		I read al jazeera web site when I want to see what's going on in that part of the world or to get the same story from another perspective. On the whole they seem like a pretty legit news organization. Sure, they can be slanted at times. But aren't all networks?

Funny - in all the years Al Gore has been in the public eye, I have never seen or heard Al Gore say anything about his being "against capitalism".

The only people I have ever seen or heard saying that Al Gore was "against capitalism" is FOX, Right-wingers who write for Townhall.com, Right-wing talk radio hosts and people who contribute to militia and White supremicist websites like FreeRepublic and the Aryan Nations.

Glenn Beck made an offer to buy Current TV, Al Jazeera made an offer to buy Current TV and Al Jazeera's offer was better than Glen Beck's offer, so that's the offer Gore took, just like any other American capitalist would do.

Sound pro-capitalism to me.

Gore has never opposed capitalism. Even in his pushing for regulations on climate change he has pushed a market based solution.

It's pretty well established that if a full recount were done Gore would have won the election.

In any case.... it's bullshit to argue that Bush had anything more than the narrowest of mandates.

This feeble attempt at vilification is pathetic.

Al Gore has spent the years since his failure to achieve the Presidency (and thank God for that) telling all of us about the evils of global warming, yet when he's offered the opportunity to pocket $100 million from a state that only exists because of oil, into the family lockbox it goes.

He's a whore. Current has value because of distribution, not content or quality, and it only achieved that distribution because Al sold himself, and now he's picking up the cash off Qatar's nightstand.

Status: offline 		Pretty much Lucy.  I remember reading that first article about it online.  I did not finish my breakfast cereal.  It was nasty and funny at the same time.  We still had Max the dog at the time.  It was days before I stopped seeing a little Gore head on his body.

It was an almost "South Parkish" visual.
