Yeah...same here. I blame it on hormone changes...ya know...being near that age of hormone changes. I don't think he always buys it.

I cant claim that being pregnant, but I made enchiladas for dinner one night, somebody did my worst pet peeve and put and empty carton of sour cream back into the fridge. So since the roads were icy my husband ran me up to the store where they were completely out of sour cream. Uhg. I was so frustrated I started to cry. My loving husband said oh I see someone is being hormonal. I would not have been near as frustrated if I knew then then that he figured we would just go out since it is a crime to eat mexican without sour cream.

Thanks for the insights - I've often wondered about the counting. I think for some people it also has to do with keeping track - to see if they could break their previous record for number of strokes taken. I saw a demo where the Dom asked the audience - how many strokes do you think she can take? And then the sub counted out loud "One Sir, two Sir, etc. etc. and she went past the number that anyone in the audience had predicted - but it still wasn't her record number.

hhmm...I think a record number would all be dependent on how hard or soft he hit her each time, what condition her body was in each time, whether her skin changes like mine every single day, hormone fluctuations, etc.....I mean, isn't it kinda silly that maybe her record number was just light taps but then that time when you saw them, they were heavier?

Yeah, I'm a Debby Downer for ruining the fantasy.

For me, no matter what the implement, if there are going to be multiples I like to be told how many strikes I will receive and then to count them off. I use it like a test for myself.. Yes I can take those x number of strikes. It helps.

If I'm doing it for punishment, not funishment, I'll have the s-type give the count, as well as some other phrase that reinforces the correct behavior, or that associates the pain with the incorrect behavior. "ONE. I will not be disrespectful, Sir."

If it's playtime, I'll use counting to make the s-type breathe, and to make sure that I'm giving (for the most part) a reasonable recovery time between strokes. Not so much an issue for me when caning.

As a Domme, I use counting some times, and not others. One factor that may influence My choice is how well I know that sub and their propensity to space. I would usually get a newbie to count so I can tell from their voice, from how quickly they say the number, and from their counting accuracy, whether they are starting to get spacy or not. Depends on My mood as to whether We start over when they get it wrong, or whether I tell them to stop counting and just let go now if I want them to go on into space. Like vield I do love that little anticipation I see when We get to the 0 numbers LOL. And I also use it to set targets for the wimps to encourage them to take a bit more than they thought they could. They get high just from the success of stretching their boundaries a bit. I did laugh hysterically at the sub who took Me SO literally. I told him he had to say "One, thank You Ma'am. May i have another one harder please". He said EXACTLY that ... after each subsequent stroke ... as in "One ...", "One ...", "One ...". The concept of addition seems to have been lost there LOL.

As a sub, i don't mind if Master has me count or not. i did amaze myself one time by keeping entirely focused on the counting yet still very much enjoying the adrenalin and endorphin ride ... i got to 250 spanks!! With Master's big hands, and lots of weight behind them, that was pretty mind-boggling for Him and me. In the end He had to stop there as His hands were both red and stinging! Somehow i can't see that record falling any time soon ... but it makes a great incentive for My subs to hear about LOL! Totally convinces them their Domme is made of sterner stuff than they are, and several have said "Please don't let Master spank me Ma'am!"

I actually don't like my person to count, or be so focused as to be counting the spankings. It has been counted for me, and surprised me, how far I can go... I don't want him in control of anything, and the more he seems aware/counting, the further I will tend to go, to see where he surrenders/gives in to the experience. M

I like knowing how many I am getting.. I don't necessarily like counting out loud but I will. I don't get into thanking and asking for another, because I know I am getting another. I had a Dom who would start, then say 3 more to go, I wasn't allowed to move but could scream as much as I liked.

When I have my friend whip me I let her go until she likes the patterns on my breasts, then she uses a coaxial cable loop on them and I like knowing how many and I will count! Mainly because I ask of a certain number and force myself to take them

I think the counting has multiple purposes but may be different to others.

The counting to me is just another way to enhance the submission and reinforce the domination…but on top of that it also allows the Dom to get feedback by the way the count is said. You can get a measure of the pain the sub is experiencing as an example by the tone of their voice.

I can think of multiple reasons, but one that comes to mind is that constant vocalisation provides an additional feedback channel for the Dom.

Best spanking (and one of only three or four?) I've ever gotten was a birthday spanking where HE counted. Drifting off into lala land and then being startled into humiliation by realizing that when he said 'Do you want one for good luck?' I wanted to say yes even though saying NO! was the best thing because those fuckers hurt. Counting myself? Yea, it makes it hurt a lot more and I don't enjoy it all that much.

When I exercise I like to know how many minutes are left in the routine at all times. I imagine its the same, knowing how much longer you have to endure. I've never forced a submissive to count unless it was a punishment. For pure play pleasure, no counting necessary.

In this case it's understandable to count. The boys I've been with, are less verbal, with the wailing/crying out. I imagine they enjoy longer spankings, as I usually give them ways to express a desire for me to slow down. Unless they do so, I go to town, intil they go deep (unable to be coherent), or start to change colors on bottom/thighs. M

I use counting for humiliation purposes mostly. (i.e. I ask how many times did i strike you today? What number was your favorite? Etc) I also use it to keep them focused on the pain. I find for some it helps them ease into their substance, (I always go in rounds of ten) by the time they get to "ten, thank you Goddess" they are usually ready to submit completely...
