i work with a couple of people that have schizophrenia. it is not, as alot of people think, about different personalities trapped in one body/mind. two of my residents have this and all it manifests as is that one moment they are the sweetest of people, the next they are threatening to kill you and think you are working against them. being paranoid is a large part of it, and not being able to apply logic to situations.

you could well be suffering from the paranoia side of things. as with all these mental health things there are varying scales of what people suffer from. i do think from what you have said above that MMH lady is probably correct in what she thinks. however, even if any of us were qualified to diagnose you we are here on the net and don't know you personally. if you feel you maybe then you have to push it more with your doctor. don't let them fob you off, and tell them everything. not sleeping, or eating regularly will not help you symptoms, so they need addressing as well.

i personally believe what you say as i have no reason to doubt you. but LadyPact has also stood up and backed you up. anyone else that wants to think anything bad of you probably isn't worth the time it would take to read their post.

good luck with getting things sorted. as i would in the i admit thread...for what it's worth to you....i send special thoughts, and a hug.

I think you're both schizophrenic. (just kidding I seriously dont but it was too good to resist)

As said before. Schizophrenia is, in layman's terms, losing touch with reality. Hallucinations, lost days, things like that.
You don't seem to be there at all. Anxiety and PTSD, maybe a touch of depression or bipolar, I'd buy that but don't have enough information to go further.
Hell, all of us get depressed sometimes especially when it's December and it seems like the damn sun doesnt come out for weeks at a time and I'd say a lot of us also have manic periods. It's just more severe in some folks.

No one online can diagnose or treat you. Just dont go doctor shopping, searching for your diagnosis. That never goes well.

From what you've described, it doesn't sound like schizophrenia to me. It's pretty serious and usually requires major drugs (or combo of) and could take years to find the right one.

Stress and maybe Bipolar (more Bipolar II), although I'm not a doctor.
Lack of sleep can do some crazy things to your mind as well.

If you don't believe a doctor's diagnosis, seek a second opinion, but don't assume it will change.

Most importantly, don't believe what someone here says based on your online persona.
Besides, everyone's a little crazy just varying degrees.

Ok, so your a little nutty. It happens.

I just need you to tell me one thing. Please tell me you aren't arpig.
The only way that pam is Arpig would be if she created Arpig. I can promise that it's not the other way around. Unlike the Arpig fiasco, I've met all three of them (pam, Whiper, and ivone) in the flesh.

Last december I had some sort of breakdown.

I didn't sleep or eat much during the month of December, and I was under tremendous stress. I was crying akll the time.

I was working 7 days a week

I just listed my symptoms. I did not tell him I suspected schizophrenia. The doctor increased my dose of antidepressant,

I was still feeling really agitated all the time. I wasn't sleeping or eating much, and I had started drinking too much. I was crying at the drop of a hat. I felt like I needed to scream out loud. I had the sensation of not being able to breathe, even though I
knew I was getting enough air. My world felt heavy and constricted. I was obsessed with Arpig and several other posters here. I was scared of getting fired and afraid that my co-workers were talking behind my back, or at least thinking things about me. I remember thinking over and over "I'm going to pass out" and "I'm dying", even though I knew it wasn't true. I had trouble remembering thibgs, and sometimes I had a hard time thinking clearly. My symptoms never included seeing or hearing things that weren't there.

After several sessions she diagnosed me with anxiety, specifically PTSD.

She says anxiety, plus a cluster of symptoms which may or may not be manic depression. She knows there is a history of manic depression in my family and no history of schizophrenia, but she said she was trying not to form any preconceived ideas of what it might be. I think she believes I might be bipolar or have borderline personality disorder, but she hasn't diagnosed either yet. Schizophrenia and the other schizo-type diseases have been ruled out.

I cannot help you. This is way over my head.

It does not help that you already were on an antidepressant. It obfuscates the picture. Was that the only medication that you were / are on? What about birth control pills? Diuretics?

Clearly something is messing with your brain chemistry. The first suspect of course is any medication that you are on. The second suspect is your female hormonal balance; I would have that checked out. The third suspect is your sub nature (you seem to be very sure to be a sub and not a slave); but since apparently you have not had the same symptoms for 34 years and they only started two years ago, I deem this unlikely. The fourth possibility is a combination of the first three suspects.

Your psychologist / psychiatrist seems to be a sensible woman.

Pam, it bothers me a LOT that you're making this offer. Something's agitating you, and you feel like you need to PROVE anything.

You don't. If anyone thinks that you're a sock, screw 'em.

I agree.

Positive symptoms are thoughts or events that a person with schizophrenia experiences which others around them don’t experience. They may include:

Hallucinations - hearing, seeing, smelling, feeling, tasting or otherwise sensing things that others don’t
Delusions - believing things that others see as unrealistic, mistaken or strange; or paranoid delusions (for example, believing that you are being persecuted, influenced or harassed in some way)
Feelings of being controlled (for example that your mind or body is being taken over)
Thought disorder (such as confused and disconnected thoughts caused by other positive symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions and, perhaps, speech)
Unusual movements - including agitated body movements and the repetition of certain movements, and catatonia (an inability to move)

If any of the above is happening see professional help.

If not, tell whoever is telling you that you are schizophrenic to fuck off with a barbed wire dildo up their ass.

You know, I'd consider that a possibility for about half a second if you could keep the dang computer screen names straight now. There really are three individuals using that computer and I don't know how many times you've forgotten to log one of the other ones off.

I'll give you this: I am crazy. I'm definitely crazy. I'm just probably not schizophrenic.

Pam

It seems to me that you've been under tremendous stress and allowed yourself to be convinced that you are crazy and schizophrenic. Stop it. Nobody can diagnose you with mental disorders except a mental health profession who has spent hours speaking to you face-to-face and observing your behavior. Certainly not forum folks. If you keep telling yourself you're crazy you'll just end up making yourself sicker.

Mood swings is not crazy. Depressed is not crazy. PTSD is not crazy. Disagreeing with morons online is not crazy. Some paranoia is not crazy. Some of it is normal human behavior caused by you having a brain, feelings and opinions. Some of it is a symptom of you being ill. Obviously if you feel you need help you should get it, but don't let the opinions of people you've never met convince you of something you are not.

THANK YOU. Jesus. Thinking you can accurately diagnose someone online, without knowing jack about them, OR being remotely qualified is to me, the height of stupidity.

For the record, I'm not, although you have reason enough not to believe me. I can try to explain, but I think there's many whose minds are made up. If that's what you believe, it's okay to say it to me. I would rather get this out in the open.

Pam

If you say you are not then I believe you.

I do think that the question seems to come out of left field (in my opinion.)

What is the Arpig fiasco?

Aylee, do a search for Arpig and Thanks for the Dance... evidently he had a breakdown, & created a whole legion of fake profiles.
