The red flag has been raised as they are doing that in droves now, its herd mentality, ammo is sold out all over.  And they are not likely to stop at anytime soon.

Tazzygirl only reads and absorbs what fits her agenda and the only thing that will change her mind is when she is killed after dialing 911 and the cops show up 20 min later to take the report.

Obomba voted in favor of EVERY gun control bill as a senator. He, Feinstein and others want every American citizen unarmed. Feinstein stated just that. She also stated "Women are not capable of defending themselves with these death machines we call guns". She is also in favor of females in military service. So can they or can't they.

There are many shooters that go out for a weekend of target practice and shoot off 1000 rounds or more. Are they a threat to society?

I agree with Lovmuffin that nothing will change a liberals mind and when you overwhelm them with facts they change the subject.

Who can own a gun in DC or chicago - only cops and the elite. If Obomba and Feinstein thought they could ban all guns in the USA they would but smart politicians chip away at your rights taking a inch here and inch there and before long the whole right to own guns is gone.

England and Australia only single shot guns are legal and in both Countries you have to get permission to own one.

Ammo sales - another form of the govt finding out who owns what caliber guns. Nothing sinister about that, yea right.

Cars in the hands of the wrong people kill people. A drunk 17yo totaled my son's parked truck very easily could have killed someone.

Look at history, rights are not taken away in one day, they are destroyed over a period of years. Look at all the rights were have lost in just the last 12 years.

All this bullshit about banning assult rifles, confiscating, etc, etc escapes one glaring example of how "bans" do NOT work. Are street drugs "banned?" Is it effective?

No they arent.

I'm afraid he is correct Tazzy. An assault rifle is a medium range (not high powered ammunition) light weight rifle capable of semi automatic fire or with the flick of a switch fully automatic fire, they are illegal to own without a transfer, a tax and an extensive background check. Most civilians have been completely priced out of the market. The guns at issue are common semi automatic rifles, carbines and handguns (been around for over 100 years) built on military platforms mainly for durability. Technically there is no such thing as an "Assault Weapon". You can't even define the term. 10 different people will give you 10 different definitions. But let me give it a try. Assault weapons are all semi automatic guns, an entire class of firearms.

The nitwits and liars at the NRA have obfuscated the matter but the assault rifle is very well defined.

It is a class of long arm designed after or during WWII to be smaller and lighter than the battle rifles of the era. the weapon fires a, then, new class of ammunition, lower caliber than the roughly .30 fired by battle rifles but high velocity. Whether the weapon is select fire is immaterial what matters is overall length and weight of the weapon and the ammo it uses.

Moonhead is correct, the AK fires a .30 caliber though less power than most .30's. You are thinking about the .223 which is unique because it is indeed a high velocity round but is also a light weight .23 caliber that doesn't translate to any significant power or range. Pretty much the same with the AK 74 though somewhat better performance.

So it's nitwits that come up with BS like whats in your post, though I can't say liars because they simply don't know what they're talking about.

You were right about the intermediate cartridge, but now you're just making shit up. An assault rifle is a selective fire weapon.

And yet you could not find one thing to dispute what I posted.

As far as "fitting my agenda"... just what IS my agenda, since you seem to believe you are all knowing.

quote:

Wrong.

quote:

He, Feinstein and others want every American citizen unarmed. Feinstein stated just that.

“If I could’ve gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them — Mr. and Mrs. America turn ‘em all in — I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren’t here.”

Feinstein said something close to that... where is Obama's "decree"?

quote:

She also stated "Women are not capable of defending themselves with these death machines we call guns".

She did? Then why didnt any legitimate news source run with that story? Since you have all this information, I am sure you wont mind delighting us with the source of that information....

quote:

She is also in favor of females in military service. So can they or can't they.

Yes, she is. Pst... she owns a gun herself.

I have yet to change the subject. Show me the facts and not just your opinion, which I have, so far, repeatedly shown to be wrong.

And?

If guns were as regulated as cars...

Wonder how my .223 would react to Ethanol as a propellant?

Possibly quite well. I think ethanol was one of the liquid propellants that was being looked into before even the Germans gave up on that idea, wasn't it?

In regards to this topic, tazzy is more likely to have a report ready for the cops when they get there 20 minutes after she's called 9-1-1. And she'll likely have field dressed the perp while she was waiting, and most likely will have a list of recent cases for her lawyer that apply to her situation.

The AK-47 fires a short .30 (39mm compared to the 51mm used in NATO standard battle rifles.) which is high velocity and short ranged just like the 5.56mm round used in the AR-15. Both cartridges are specific and exclusive to assault rifles. The AK-74 fires a 5.45 X 39mm cartridge, unsurprisingly another purpose made cartridge seen no where else.

So your post shows the profound dishonesty of the gun nuts who have to resort to lies to obfuscate the fact they simply want to possess military long arms for no reason.

Sorry Ken but the 7.62x39 doesn't reach nearly the velocity of a .223. For what is basicly a 30 caliber round it's quite slow.

Your post shows your profound lack of knowledge because you still don't know what you're talking about.

This claim is untrue. There are civilian non-selective fire versions produced in both calibers.

I never said it reached the velocity of the 5.56N. Do not try and put words in my mouth.

Well. . . I think that the poster was envisioning a home invasion/rape/robbery type of thing where he kills you after you dial 911.

Of course, if he DID accuse you of trying to take all his guns away, you would probably shoot him in the knee, take his gun and tell him, "Not ALL your guns asshole, just this one."
