To be honest, I dont see Tazzy using a weapon needing a chemical based propellant.

I kind of see her actually perfecting a hand portable rail gun capable of rapid fire.

FYI a railgun makes any firearm look like a toy. Me and a friend of mine built one in his garage and it ended up making him have to hire a brick mason to repair the holes we put in his garage wall... and some damage to his neighbor's car.

Since there is no law covering railguns, he was cited for reckless use of a unclassified weapon. The ticket cost him $500.

Sorry Ken but the 7.62x39 doesn't reach nearly the velocity of a .223. For what is basicly a 30 caliber round it's quite slow.

Your post shows your profound lack of knowledge because you still don't know what you're talking about.

I never said it reached the velocity of the 5.56N. Do not try and put words in my mouth.

You said

"The AK-47 fires a short .30 (39mm compared to the 51mm used in NATO standard battle rifles.) which is high velocity and short ranged *just like*the 5.56mm round used in the AR-15."

What were we to infer from that ? You're plucking bits and pieces from who knows where and then pretending to know what you're talking about.

  • Nominate an ATF director.(An EO for a "To Do List" item?!?)

  • It does seem like a weird order, but apparently the Patriot Act gave the Senate the ability to block the President from appointing someone to run the ATF, which they have done the entire time Obama's been in office. So literally there hasn't been an ATF directer since Bush was President.

  • Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.(It's a damn good idea to include school officials, and possibly all school employees; don't law enforcement and first responders already have this training?!?)

  • I would think so - maybe they mean active shooter situations in schools in particular?

    quote:

  • Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.(While it doesn't prohibit it, why would doctors be the ones to ask?)

  • I could see a doctor or psychiatrist asking if somebody tells them about violent feelings they or a family member has been having. Or maybe the patient has signs of domestic abuse.

    quote:

  • Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.(I would much rather see this come out as a guideline only.)

  • I think probably it will be. The phrase "model" plans make me think they'll be examples or outlines, that schools can use or use as a basis to develop something different.

On their face, these EO's are mild, and seem more like he is pushing 23 out so as to make it look like he's doing something about it. I'm not saying he isn't, but it's almost like everything he's doing is primarily behind the scenes, so he's rolling these out almost as a photo op.

Yeah, I think these are mostly symbolic. The real tough stuff will be addressed by Congress.

Who can own a gun in DC or chicago - only cops and the elite.

Dunno about Chicago, but private gun ownership is legal in DC now. However, the one dealer that opened up shop went out of business, so you have to buy it out of state and get it transferred. Most people in DC who aren't criminals just aren't that interested in having guns.

That I know what high velocity means when discussing ammunition? If you don't maybe you shouldn't be discussing the matter.

I am guilty of the derailment of the thread.

We should be discussing the Executive orders the president is considering, once again I see nothing wrong with what he is considering.

I'll stop when you stop trying to make shit up.

Just admit you have no idea about the history and nomenclature of firearms and you decided to spout bullshit without actually knowing what a high velocity cartraidge is and I'll stop pointing out your abysmal lack og knowledghe ona subject you claim to know.

First we have the 2nd amendment upheld just recently by the supreme court.
The reason for the 2nd amendment is to protect our rights from tyrannical govt.

Look at the number of rights the govt has taken from you in just this century (12 years). TSA, illegal search and seizure - think they are stopping at airports, they have held training exercises in Orange County, CA transit centers, Patriot Act allows govt to detain ANYONE without charges, warrant or legal council, Political Correctness has all but eliminated the first amendment.

Obama in 2006 said "Any President using executive order is committing a criminal act and should be prosecuted." What is he threatening to use to get his way and bypass our form of govt.

Assault weapons - no such thing. assault rifles are fully automatic machine guns used by the military and banned from the public for decades.
    http://www.assaultweapon.info/

None of the weapons used in Newtown were illegal or will be made illegal and were obtained by the owner legally. The owner was killed by her son with her gun.

Limiting magazine size only means that the shooters carry more magazines, which they did in Newtown and Colombine.

When guns are outlawed only criminals and the govt will have guns. The biggest street gang in America today is the cops.

Hitler and Stalin and the State of CA first asked the people to register their guns, then knowing where they all were confiscated them. It happened in CA in the 1990s involving owners of AK type rifles. One year after they complied with registration the State required the owners to turn them in or make them inoperable by welding up the barrels. Sale or transfer was not allowed.

Australia - destroyed millions of guns, thousands of antique guns. One owner of a large collection of antique guns wanted to send them to a museum in the USA. Export of any privately owned guns banned. All without compensation.

Guns do not kill people, people kill people. They have been doing it for thousands of years with rocks, clubs, spears etc. It's the human not the tool that is the problem

In the days following Newtown a person pushed a complete stranger into the path of a subway train - second person killed this way in a month. In Los Angeles Ca a man walked into a drug store and bought a flammable liquid walked across the street and set a homeless woman on fire - she had slept on that same bus bench for 10 years. Again - it's the people.

Outlawing the tools used in a killing will not stop the killing.

was going to mention some of what is here mainly hitler and stalin and tyranny.. just because tazzy does not know history does not change why we have a second amendment.. and as far as the tin hats go im actually looking for where i can get one like the ones in this picture.. there called ballistic masks but i want a helmet version once i do get my tin hat everyone will be so jealous
