Places were named after places people came from.
After 1776 We didn't have a king a fact finally recognized by England in 1783
Unlike George III I speak English and my ancestors came from Germany, and Scotland, that is the ones who weren't here when Columbus showed up.

Not all places and not all States.........Georgia, Maryland, Carolina, Virginia.......all named after English Royals.

Psst, if you were not recognised by England until 1783, guess who was king until then...lets not forget not everyone wanted to break ties either.

George III was, Like me, born in London, that makes him English, he also spoke English.....

Your Scots ancestors were also descended from the original British Celts, much like the rest of us.

Want to try again ?

My Scotish and German ancestors came here in the 19th century after they saw that we had built a better country than the ones they lived in as for the others they had never aknoledged British ownership in North America and as they were the original owners, by your logic Enlang never ruled here anyway, see how it works, your logic creats one absurd concept after another.

Back to the oringinal purpose of this thread no the second was not a bone for the slave states, strongly anti slave states demanded it (along with the rest of the bill of rights) as a precondition for ratifying the Constitution. Gun control came around post Civil War to keep freed slaves from defending themselves from nightriders.
Then came the infamous Sullivan act designed to see to it that only Sullivan's thugs had guns while disarming his political opponents.

Bama.......I got all that info in my last post from your State Department website..... You best take it up with them.

Fair play for the apology in taking the thread off topic though. I also apologise.
