I've always found that funny. I also find it funny when people try to tell me how our relationship should work based on their definitions of a series of labels.

I'll also say that in our search for a third, we've interacted with a number of women that stated, "I'm a slave so my submission goes deeper." Not one of them lasted beyond a month in our household because they didn't pay attention, retain information and do as requested.

You want my opinion? I think it's largely an americanism rooted in the "bigger/more is better" philosophy. In this case, quite erroneously, the label "slave" is associated with "more submissive" and that, in turn, is erroneously associated with "better".

Because people want to compete in the dating game and if they think they can become more competitive by adopting a certain label they will. Selling to the audience if you will.

In general, your marriage sounds a lot like ours. Carol could have written your entire post (LOL, all except for the not coming home from work to pick up a sock part. Not that I think I'm likely to give such a command but I can't see her prioritizing any job over her collar)

I doubt I would ever get that command either simply because it is not a reasonable request and since I make more money he won't jepordize that. But in regards to the job if he feels I am too ill to go to work, I would stay home and if I feel I am too ill to go to work and he feels I am not I go to work. The sock part was sort of tongue in cheek. I really think however the main difference between me and most slaves here is that I do have a choice. If I really want to do what I want to do I CAN it's just I don't exercise that choice but I know it's there. Perfect example---last night he wanted me to do the majority of the house chores I would do today last night before I went to bed. He announced it the second I said I wanted to go to bed. I stayed up and did the chores and he helped then said, "See tomorrow you will get up and won't have to worry about it." I did not appreciate it then but I sure do now.
