No offense to the Duggar family....but I don't think I'd be celebrating a 13th child either.....

If you're going to quote me, the very least you could do is NOT change my words.

The link to the post to which the person referred is: Post # 30

You will please note the actual wording of the apropriate paragraph:

You seem to not know that not having a bible at your fingertips is no reason to not be able to figure out what a bible verse references. Here's a hint: The interwebs isn't just for porn, anymore, dear.

NOWHERE did I suggest that you could ONLY find porn on the interwebs. In point of fact; I suggested quite the opposite but thank you for playing.

P.S.; you just lost the game

Since one of the posters currently in this thread informed me not so long ago that "the only info you are capable of looking up online are porn sites," I thought I might surprise him with my capabilities by looking up some info concerning what this thread is about. And here is what I found! : )
The fear of the number 13 actually has a phobia named for it: triskaidekaphobia (and I checked this spelling 3 times!) HA!
The number 13 seems to mostly be associated with groups of 13 people...
At the Last Supper, the 13th dinner guest was the one who betrayed Christ (as has been pointed out.)
In Norse mythology, 12 benevolent gods were gathered in a hall when the 13th god (Loki) entered, attacked the group, and killed the god Balder.
In ancient religion, Valhalla, the home of the gods had 12 guests at a feast, and a 13th, the god of Deceit, turned up uninvited.
I also came across the story of the Templar Knight (as has been pointed out.)
There was also a notation that Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt was totally phobic and took great pains to avoid hosting a meal for a group that size.
So instead of thinking there might be one, hard and steadfast reason, I found it totally depends on who one asks.
Hope you've enjoyed this information! :)

Isn't 13 the number of witches in a coven, too (which may be based on some or all the aforementioned info)?

And Judas was a bit of a wanker. Or so I hear.

That's the predominant view in Christianity today, but...

There is a sinister backdrop to traditional depictions of Judas. As Christianity distanced itself from its origins as a Jewish sect, Christian thinkers found it increasingly convenient to blame the Jews as a people for the arrest and execution of Christ, and to cast Judas as the archetypal Jew.

I wonder what he and his wife will do when their son comes and they don't have to house sit for him anymore. Sounds like they own their home. In his 50's and they don't own a home even though he's VP of Sales?

Silly as it may seem, I do sympathize. If he is that willing to take a stand for his beliefs, there is something to admired and respected.

I don't think that basing ones actions on stupid superstitions is actually something that's healthy for our society to respect.
