I can point to 26 innocents who died because of the rights of one man to own a gun.

He stole the guns making your point invalide on that point. He was innocent of any crime until that morning...wasnt he?.
He was imbalanced Strike two.Are you saying that all mentally unstable people are going to turn into killers??? because theres a LOT of unstable people out there who shouldnt have access to guns, , but they wil swear up and down they arent unstable, and a whole lot iof unstable people who wil never pick up a weapon.
And the guns didn't make kill he made them kill strke three. He unloaded 150 bullets in less than five minutes..... with a smaller cap clip, a different gun, the toll would have been far smaller than it was. I wont even go into the fact had he used a bat, a knife or a car, the death toll would have been under five, yeah

And still you want to penalize people because someday somewher someone might do something wrong with some gun the person has never touched and you don't see how that violates every premise of fair play and justice this country is based on.

Everyone is innocent, until that one day, they turn into a criminal.....
Fair play and justice, REALLY???? Justice is for the rich and connected...in ANY country. As for Fair Play, just look at the trillions of money being held in offshore accounts while ex workers live in poverty.
Arming more people just gives you an exponential risk of more people dying in accidents, arguments passion shootings and suicides.
Would YOU submit to a mental health check and accept their findings if you were found to be below their level of acceptance? I doubt it....?
Philosophically killing ten people cos one killed a nazi(Yes godwins law) is NOTHING close to being the same as "penalising" a gun owner with registration, security, training OR banning certain types of weapons.

You missed that when Focus was taking his turn at me, while in the Air Force they tried to dismiss my allergy to nutrasweet as stress and did give me a phsyc eval so unlike most people I am certified as sane.
It is the same, penalizing everyone because one person does something wrong.
I must have misunderstood you because it sounds like while you are all for trickle down law enforcement you don't want to do anything about the mentally ill.
I keep hearing that sure they are innocent till they start killing maybe not in Canada but here the overiding rule is innocent untill proven guilty.
Gun control throws that out the window.

Wrong, I most certainly do want to do something about the mentally ill... Read some of my other posts, so you are Damn wrong and just looking to troll. OF course you wanna bring country into it again. And innocent until proven guilty is the law in both the countries I have lived in... However Prevention is not Proving you Guilty of ANYTHING
Your apparent ignorance of other countries trips you up again

LMAO so you have no source, but he DID kill 26 people and injured many simply because of the guns he was using.
Your opinion and facts dont have much in common, and I know Id trust fox before you.

from the hartford courant. march 13th
State police gave the victims' families, Sandy Hook teachers and first-responders an update on the investigation last week in which, sources said, they discussed the theory that Lanza was trying to outdo other killers.

The Courant reported last month that investigators found several articles about Breivik's killing spree in Lanza's room. Breivik set off bombs in downtown Oslo in July 2011 that killed eight people before moving to Utoya island, where he shot and killed 69 people, most of them teenagers attending a summer camp.

Breivik wounded hundreds. He was sentenced last August to 21 years in prison.

Sources said that Lanza's shooting spree lasted less than five minutes and that he fired 152 bullets while making his way through two classrooms in the elementary school. Lanza had hundreds more rounds of ammunition either on him or in the car that he drove to the school.

Sources said that Lanza retrieved the guns used in the shooting from a vault that his mother kept in the house. Police do not know whether Adam Lanza knew the combination to the vault or if Nancy Lanza did not keep it locked. Lanza used a Bushmaster AR-15 semiautomatic rifle to shoot his victims and a pistol to kill himself.

Lanza shot his way into the school through the glass windows at the front entrance and turned left toward the first-grade classrooms. He almost immediately encountered Principal Dawn Hochsprung and school psychologist Mary Scherlach, who ran into the hallway from a meeting room, which would have been on Lanza's right. He shot them both to death immediately.

Sources said that the two teachers who were injured were hit by ricochet bullets from that initial burst of gunfire. One teacher was in the meeting room with Hochsprung and Scherlach and was hit in the leg and crawled back into the room and called 911. The second teacher was closing the door to her classroom much farther down the hallway, where Lanza never went, when she was hit in the foot.

Lanza bypassed the first classroom that belonged to Kaitlin Roig, who had closed her door when she heard the original shots fired at the front door. Sources said that Sandy Hook Elementary had only weeks earlier had a lockdown drill and that Roig had not taken down the piece of black construction paper that teachers are instructed to place over the small window in the classroom doors so that no one can look in.

Lanza first skipped Victoria Soto's room and entered the classroom taught by substitute teacher Lauren Rousseau.

Lanza killed all but one student in Rousseau's class, where the children were massed together in a back corner of the room trying to get into a bathroom. One girl escaped because she played dead and ran out of the room after Lanza left.

Lanza then backtracked to Soto's room.

A source familiar with the investigation said authorities believe that Lanza started walking toward the back of Soto's classroom, where the bathroom was, when he noticed some of the children hiding under desks.

Lanza shot those students. At some point he stopped shooting, either because the Bushmaster jammed or he made an error reloading it, giving six children the opportunity to escape. Soto had placed another group of five children in a closet, where they were found alive by authorities.

Some bullets struck three cars in the parking lot, and police originally investigated the theory that he was shooting at responding officers. They now believe that he was aiming at a teacher who was standing near the window.

Lanza shot and killed himself in Soto's room with one of the two pistols that he was carrying as authorities were closing in.

State police have periodically updated the victims' families as the investigation has unfolded. Danbury State's Attorney Stephen Sedensky has said he hopes that the final report on the massacre will be done by the end of June.

Sedensky sealed the search warrants that state police used to remove items from Lanza's house and car. Sources said that Lanza apparently tried to destroy his computer's hard drive in a way that would prevent investigators from retrieving any meaningful information about his use of the device.

But two sources said that law enforcement computer forensic specialists are continuing efforts to obtain information from the damaged hard drive. Investigators are also using all means to obtain information from Internet service providers and any other relevant entities to obtain records showing how Lanza used his computer, including what sites he visited, what research he conducted and with whom he corresponded.

And I would trust Timothy Leary before you.
You didn't say anything in your first question about the eval being in order to own a firearm.
No I would not approve of it because it would end up like the literacy tests in the South during the 60's
The evaluaters would never get into trouble for failing someone so no one would pass.
Before you jump to your normal inane conclusion I don't say it is a evilplot that is just the way beaurocracy works.
Finally your post is pointless he didn't use a bomb but he didn't use an axe either so why bring that up as you did.
Your fairy tale came first I just countered with one equaly valid and equally disconnecte.
I was just checking to see if you had the normal leftest double standard and you do.
Do you remember every news clip you saw six months ago?
Your storyline here says they were not his guns so not leting him buy one would have made no difference.

Sorry missed the part where they specifically said that with any other weapon he couldn't have killed as many.
This tells what happened but everybody knows that.

Kellerman came to the same conclusion. But as usual, there's a catch.

Kellerman's study of guns in the home included homes in which there was drug abuse and domestic violence. In the final breakdown of risk factors, a gun in the home was fifth. And that was without considering whether or not it was even the home owner's gun that was involved. Now we have people trotting out Hemenway (your link). But since this study includes suicides, the only legitimate conclusion to be drawn is that you're safer without a gun in your house if you're suicidal.

It`s far from the only study.

Just want folks to have ALL the facts....and not just the NRA approved ones.

He unloaded 150 bullets in less than five minutes..... with a smaller cap clip, a different gun, the toll would have been far smaller than it was. I wont even go into the fact had he used a bat, a knife or a car, the death toll would have been under five, yeah

Possibly, but there are quite a few other firearm types or combinations of firearms of other types he could have used to kill that many or more with. The politicians and news media have everyone focused on semi automatics but ignore the fact that all firearms are deadly and most if not a crap load of them are capable of mass murder. Wait till everyone learns what a high powered rifle is or what is referred to as a hand canon. Then we can start to nibble away at some other type of gun.

Why did it take 150 rounds to do what he did and not 26 or 30 ? You mention bats, knives or cars. While there likely would have been less carnage with those, bombs, fire or poison gas would have likely been far more deadly.

And more good news everyone. Feinstiens assault weapon ban has been shot down. The bill can't seem to get out of a Democratic controlled committee with the ban included. According to Harry Reid it would only get 40 votes in the full senate.
