My Spanish ancestors? http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/ht/?period=06®ion=eusi

In any case, I'll let you be the one to 'go with' xenophobic postings about other groups of people, you seem to have a lot of practice at it.

if you want to go on with steretype and prejudice I could tell that more than 2000 years ago while in Italy in court of law, lawyer and judges followed the "affirmanti incumbit probatio" principle, your ancestor were painted in red and blu howling to the moon.

my point is that this kind of statements can piss off, I think I proved it. If you don't understand you did the same thing in your post is your shortcoming.

The assertion that in Italy, an acquittal is not necessarily the end of the criminal legal process is one of fact. Otherwise this thread wouldn't exist.

I don't particularly care if it pisses you off to hear the difference between the 2 country's systems described objectively.

You've already established that you find it necessary to make derogatory comments based on such trivialities as the ethnicity of other posters. If you expect to find nothing but agreement with that sort of post here, you are mistaken. You will no doubt find supporters, but it won't be universal.

Regarding Ms. Knox, and the Civil laws; not only is an acquittal not final, but as her case shows, neither is a guilty finding. The Civil law places the State as having a duty and principle to detect crimes and sanction those responsible. Not as criminal law being reduced an adversarial proceeding and some sort of attorney's duel, with a "winner take all" aspect. And punishing the innocent is seen as far more counter-productive than allowing the guilty to walk free.

She has received the benefits and debits of this Roman legal system, and as I noted far earlier, at this stage of proceedings in the United States, she would still be either jailed, or out on bail, and likely not be allowed to leave the United States on her own authority, as Italy has done in allowing her to return home.
