I am usually against America and it's excuses for war. We all know that Iraq and Afghanistan were about oil not liberation. However North Korea and it's Pugsley look alike leader do so piss me off. The ruling class enjoy champagne and caviar while the people starve and then make threats to the U.S.A and the South mainly to get free money and a lift of sanctions. Who thinks that the U.S. should say "Fuck it" and wipe out Pugsley and his cronies once and for all and free it's people from these greedy fat arrogant fucks ? I know I do.

Yeah...still not the right section, bud.

Unless you intended this to be a joking type of thread? Then you're good.

Afghanistan wasn't about oil. I don't think there's any oil in Afghanistan...not substantial amounts, certainly. Afghanistan wasn't about liberation, either...it was about revenge. I would argue that Iraq was less about oil and more about revenge (though of a personal rather than national variety), too.

In response to your question, though...war is far from the worst thing that could happen in North Korea. I would love to see the people of North Korea have more rights and freedoms. But there are lots of problems with simply going to war. First of all, we've already fought a war in Korea. It's difficult. The terrain is hilly and mountainous, which reduces the advantages of our technological superiority. It gets bitterly cold (the premier history of the Korean War isn't called "The Coldest Winter" for nothing).

And then there's the diplomatic struggle. Do you know what countries border North Korea? South Korea, obviously, and they may support us. China, too...who isn't likely to appreciate an American force bearing down on Chinese territory. Whether they'd intervene in the same way they did in the 1950s is an open debate, but you have to be concerned.

How the hell could Afghanistan be about oil when they didn't even produce any?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_oil_production

Here are the top 115 countries by oil production. Where is Afghanistan?
If silliness is posted, it's typically backed up by something.

Just like the drooling neocons, you lump Afghanistan and Iraq under one cause.

OK...here we go. They want to build an oil pipeline from Tajikstan through Afhganistan and they can't do it without a pro American government or is it Uzbekistan...one of the two. It's common knowledge here in the UK :) So I'm afraid Hillwill's it is one and the same cause :)

In other words, you don't know where they DO want to run it, who will use it or how it was predicted 12 years ago that oil would have anything to do with the place.
Anyway, that pipeline isn't for oil, it's for natural gas that's bound fo India.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Afghanistan_Pipeline
That doesn't do us any good because depending on the year, we're already #1 or 2 in natural gas prodction.

Yeah. It may be getting time for that pipsqueak to be glowing in the dark. It was kinda funny, him rattling his sabres while two stealth bombers conducted an exercise in his backyard.

Yachtie...he reminds me of Cartman from Southpark...fat little fuck. And I don't mean Cartman. Even the Chinese are getting fed up with N.Korea and would probably like to see a regime change. Still pro China but a regime change. They are so embarrised at haveing to call N.Korea an ally these days....the Chinese are like.."What the fuck are they doing now!". N.Korea does represent a sort of military buffer zone for the Chines from American backed South Korea but times have moved on and geographical buffer zones don't really mean much in this modern age of warfare.

Economically, China has more in common with S. Korea. What the fuck does the north produce?

Oh, that's right. Comedy

Ignorant douchebags, mostly. Such an invasion of liberation would be far better achieved coming down from China, and the Chinese need to get rid of millions of young men anyway.

LOL. I think this is going to get boring, very fast.

We may wind up in a war in Korea, but no sensible person is going to hope for it. Any long term benefit to the people in the north would follow horrendous suffering, even by the standards they live with today.

The "experts" who get cited in the news reports keep saying the daily flow of threats are just rhetoric, and I hope they are right. It's all a question of just how detached from reality the tubby-boy leader is. If he believes his press releases, a world of shit may open up.

Perhaps President Obama will defuse the whole situation, by apologizing for all US aggression against the DPRK, lifting all the sanctions, paying some billions in reparations, and making sure the little god-king gets courtside seats to the NBA finals, and the full royal treatment that is his birthright. Peace in our time!

Newageviking...er...have you ever been to Scandinavia or are you like one of those Americans who claim to be Irish because their great grandfathers friend had a sister that new somebody who was Irish LOL Methinks so. Heritic...for once ..there hasn't actual been any U.S. aggresion...just normal military exercises with S.Korea. The little fat boy is just doing the usual... "Give us money and we will not hurt you" routine. Only the N.Korians think that shit will work. So pathetic and laughable. I think Kim Jung Cartman is digging a very big hole for himself. Funny really..he is so niave.

Afghan. reaches the Caspian sea. There, estimates are that [it] has as much oil and gas as Saudi Arabia. We and the western profiteers in general want to build a pipeline to get more of it south and to resell it world wide.

For example, BP had a similar explosion as that of the gulf here the difference being, they can have people arrested for reporting on it and can operate in secrecy no matter the death, destruction or environmental degradation taking place.

It has been reported and surmised further by many that we are in Afghan. simply to negotiate with the Taliban to leave the pipeline alone. The rest is conversation and too, has been berry, berry profitable...the primary reason for war.

Iraq is most certainly oil and 4 new US military bases which are there to facilitate (intel) any necessary black ops, early warning for any significant push by Iran and to make sure that oil is not nationalized.
