I invited one guy from CM to attend a munch and he had to come and introduce himself to me as I had no idea what he looked like!  There are some others on CM that I already know from attending munches where I live.

Are you talking just met, like at a munch? Or met thinking something might come of it?

I've met a number of local people who have profiles on CM. I've met people thinking maybe we'd be a match, but nothing has come from that. Mostly I've made friends with people and said, "You're (so-n-so) on CM, aren't you?" Then we exchange CM nicks and talk about our experiences. It can be a great way to make friends in the local community.

Yes, I know a few of my local munch-mates are on here. Even stumbled across a familar face or two that I'm played with.

As for meeting them after coming across them in collarme...Have discussed the possibility with a good number...but in the end, well, I think I've met a total of 3. (One was a lying jerk, and I didn't see it coming. That's what I get for deciding to put aside a longstanding rule. A lesson in why I have that rule in the first place...)

Do I think I might meet someone local here and have a relationship someday? I don't know. Maybe. I consider online to be just one more venue to increase my chances. I attend munches, and network with kinky friends. Someday, I really hope to be successful. We'll see.

By the way, I get contacted by more local people off the AFF list than anywhere else, but to be honest it's a pretty icky place, and the caliber of people who've messaged me there...well, just..yuck.

I've met quite a number of local submissives from CM in real time, (12 - I just counted lol) including the two that are mine. I'm naturally friendly, and I like meeting interesting new people, even when I'm not actively looking. The San Francisco Bay Area encompases a number of cities, so I guess that makes it easier. I'm going to meet a local CM Domme for lunch in the near future, too. [:)]

I have met one person locally from CM and I'm still with him.  I think that at least one other local person would have been prepared to meet me but I didn't think that was what I wanted then.

In answer to your subsiduary question, I do find it difficult now to connect with new people in general.  I don't think I would have been able to make local BDSM contacts offline, although I suppose I might have been able to go along to a local munch if I'd psyched myself up for it...but since I wasn't even sure that I wanted to meet up with people in my area I'm not sure that I would have actually gone through with it.

I know several people who are on CM, but I already knew them in person from other groups/activities.  So far, I've only arranged to meet one person from CM, but he flaked out on me and didn't show up.

I've messaged a few sub females in here but there don't seem to be any in the Myrtle Beach area interested in a live-in relationship.
Not that it's limited to this area, I'd be interested in meeting a sub female from other states too who would be interested in corresponding first and them maybe comming here for a visit or even a sub who'd like to spend a winter here and get away from the cold.
I used to belong to that Alt site but I noticed that it's 13 to 1 males to females so I quit. I think that that's a problem with all B&D sites, a lot more males than females.

I've met one person who was new to me on collarme and hope to be meeting another pretty soon.  In addition, I've found profiles of at least a half dozen people here whom I already knew real time, since they're also members of Desert Dominion.

I've met a number of people from London at Munches and events who have profiles here on CollarMe. Including my current girl who I met THROUGH this site.

Dear michaelGA2, Ladies and Gentlemen;
 
I have been fortunate to meet many individuals from Collarme.com as acquaintances and or friends.  I haven't found a 'match' per se but, I am content to let things flow as they are now. 
 
Some individuals are local.  Some are not but, came to the East coast as to attend a training weekend, to which I did one out of several workshops.
 
Just met a sweet lady from here and her dominant at The Crucible on the 24th.  Had a lovely chat.
 
I do wish to mention that although you might not find a match, to have people to connect with is worth it.  Not only can you find support but, networking information as well as having additional eyes and ears for a possible match aware of you and your quests.
